I don't disagree with your assessment of the presser...but I see things differently. I don't actually see or imagine a smart trade for a D man or 2 that will help us, so wise of Mac T to not say he was going to do that....I do agree with your comment at the end that MacT is just keeping his plans to his chest ( something he has been criticized heavily for NOT doing in the past. Unless a team has an older defenseman that could be moved for draft picks, and is willing to waive his NMC, the best we can expect is one of the lame free agent D that will be available this summer. Maybe 2. I don't doubt for a second that goaltending will be addressed.

He's mentioned in the past that he was gonna chase through free agency, but the guys willing to sign in edm weren't true impact players. Or impact enough anyway.
So I dunno if people blame him for that or aren't able to see the reality.
Either way, his options are limited, and as we've seen people buy any mention of changes as meaning drew doughty, so why make promises he can't for sure deliver on?
He certainly did not say he was over the moon with the defence as is and no changes.
Basically what u said, maybe one mediocre signing. And maybe he'll be able to rip off a cap desperate team. But mostly, we're forced to hope on development and growth from within.

Thanks for the enjoyment of party favours, we started partying on Thursday once we landed, went out that night to Cold Harbour night (Markus did another long marathon set) at Club Space unitl 6am, then we did Ultra on Friday, then went to Eric Prydz and Pryda Night at Club Space again from midnight until 6am again. Then Saturday was a long day of awesome. Sunday was another awesome day of awesome, except somebody stole my camera from my back pocket. I was pretty pissed. Not about the camera, but because it had all of pictures from the trip until that point.
ASOT was awesome, especially the Eric Prydz set. I was crazy high and his set was just (frank)ing with my emotions and took me for a HUGE ride. So many (frank)ing lasers too!!!!
Just a heads up, go on mixcloud and look up "Resistance" and listen to all the sets from the Resistance stage. I was pretty tweeked out from the Prydz set, I skipped Armin and went for a walk and ended up back at that Resistance stage and closed my weekend off listening to Art Department and then Jamie Jones. I actually got to see them and 5 other DJ's from that weekend do a b2b rotation in the booth. That was pretty cool.
So, you should basically start setting aside money for Ultra 2016, because I know I'm going back!
Oh, MarLo and Andrew Rayel both REALLY suck. Markus saw the "Toronto Trance Flag" I was holding up at the front of the crowd and pointed to me and waved (so (frank)ing cool) and the Andrew Bayer set really made me realize how good he is. - ChetManly
Awesome! I've been a fan of Bayer for a little while now (He's always getting props on the ABGT podcasts), and Ilan Bluestone also. I've honestly never heard of MarLo, but am sad to hear about Rayel as he seemed decent before. I grew up listening to PvD/Armin/Ferry but more recently I've been listening to a lot of deep stuff to follow up on the 90s stuff from Knuckles/Sanchez

It's always cool how seeing someone live can really make a difference. I remember when Rayel started, he was doing such solid trance. Now he is doing the crappy mainstream banger trance/house (trouse) stuff. MarLo is from Australia. Same style as Rayel, mainstreem banger trance crap. Best part of MarLo is his hot wife "Jano". Oh the things I would do to her would even disgust Jeropotato.
Carl Cox's Friday set was so awesome. the speakers were so loud. My buddies and I have been rewatching the sets and looking at set pictures and finding ones that we are in. It's so wicked.

Mac T says stuff that we all think at some point but would never ever in a millions years publically say.
Sure Klefbom has tons of potential but the guy played terrible his last 25 games or so. He started slow, got really good in a sheltered situation, and then fell flat on his face as they increased his ice time/competition.
I couldn't tell which one of Schultz or Klefbom made the tape to tape pass to the opponent in the defensive zone that turned into a goal against until after the play because they were both doing that so regularly. Terrible reads, bad pinches, positioning, and just not skating hard enough. I started raging on Schultz for not skating hard after his man before realizing it was actually Klefbom... Just giving up on coverage.
Schultz Klefbom are a BOTTOM pairing on a playoff team at best. Barring a brief stint where they looked like a capable middle pairing I don't know how any decent hockey mind could say otherwise.
And that's our top pairing going into next year. Talk about suicidal intentions. - Aerchon
(frank) no! All he's doing is absolving himself of any responsibility when we tank again next season. Chiarelli was fired today and has a much more successful track record than MacT. He's also not afraid to pull the trigger on a blockbuster franchise changing trade. Nicholson has worked with him in the past. I think he would fit in well here. - Iloveeveryone
MacT now has some experience as a GM, but he needs much more, as does this Team.
It was depressing for me as a Fan to hear him utter such nonsense. He's acting like a whipped puppy, having dispatched his bold move speak to the trash heap.
After the way this Team failed to perform, a smart GM would not guarantee that his "core" is immune from trade, keep all of his options open and pull the trigger on deals of players/picks to improve the Team this summer. - haymac
