No matter what, Vinny is not walking away from the money. He will apply pressure on the team in alternative ways.

I find it weird that those who hate Vinny and heard one rumour that he might retire like a years ago has hung on to that hope like a man clinging on to his life while hanging off the edge of a cliff. He isn't retiring.

1. Pull the fire alarm at every hotel they stay at between January and February.
2. Set off fireworks on charter flights.
3. Bang all of their wives.

Okay I figured that's what you were talking about. He's handled the poopty situation well so far, but they just constantly keep poopting on him (rightfully so at times), but at some point, the gasket is gonna blow on poor ol' vinny.

Tippet would be my guy just because I think chasing Babcock is a bit unrealistic. If Julien somehow came available that'd be a no brainer too.

I think Tippet would be a fantastic fit though with the young D men that will be coming up over the next few years.

- hereticpride

Why is signing Babcock unrealistic? I found it to be unrealistic that he wouldn't have resigned with the Wings a year ago and here we are. Ken Hitchcock originally signed here with the Flyers during one summer when his contract ended in the early 2000's and he was one of the best Coaches at the time not long removed from a Stanly Cup. Heck, Hitch at that time was probably considered only second to Bowman at that time. We've managed to persuade big time UFAs to come here such as Roenick, Forsberg and believe it or not Lecavalier. I think we're one of the best in the league in this area.

He has coached 2 seasons.

He is 50/50.

1 playoff season

1 missed playoff season.

Can we accurately say how good Berube is as a coach after 2 seasons?

Myself I can't make that judgment off 2 seasons.

- J35Bacher

Based on very questionable personnel decisions/ management and virtually every team stat regression in these 2 years I would say no to Berube.

Chiarelli out in Boston

Likely the end for Julien too I assume.

Tough business. Take a team to multiple cups and win one. Get fired only a few years later.

I believe so, but he handed out some of those contracts that put them in a tough spot moving forward
