So....Penguins/Rangers...who you rooting for?

For the scoreboard to fall on both.

No suspension.
- jmatchett383

I have no problem with that either. This is going to be a fun series to watch. Think it would have gotten him a short suspension in the regular season?

You would allow your hands to hold a bottle of something other than top-notch scotch?

I feel a little let down.

It may have, maybe a game.

My problem with it was that it was unnecessary. I guess he could argue he was trying to hold the stick down, but it wasn't a "hockey play."

It still doesn't make sense to me. If Hextall thinks he needs to rest his knee, that should of started when they were officially eliminated.
- JFlyers00

Plenty of time to rest in the off season. If there's no medical reason why Mason can't play, and Mason wants to play, I don't see the problem. Playing for a team other then the Flyers is a different story. If it was me, I wouldn't want any of them playing in an off season tourney.

Only 1 scoreboard, can only take out a maximum of 10 players barring a bench-clearing brawl.

God how I miss the early 90's. The 91/92 Game 6 end of game bench-clearer between NYR/NJ was glorious. Claude Lemieux got whipped.

I'm glad the Flyers turned a 54 point season into Luke Schenn's flowing locks!

Adam Graves just skates up to him, grabs him, and unloads. The thing ended up with Stevens and Domi in the Rangers bench.

As Steve Mason's employer, I guess the Flyers' medical staff felt he was well enough to play in NHL games that they were paying him for. In the eyes of the Flyers, those games still mattered (even though most of us feel otherwise).

Playing in the World Championships is even less meaningful than the meaningless games the Flyers played after the Boston loss.

- johndewar

Because all of hockey revolves around the model run league that is the NHL. Minus the predictable lockouts, horrid officiating, etc, etc. Arrogant morons. Mason should have every right to go if he wishes to.

Perhaps Hextall should look at his own coach first and foremost when he talks about resting Mason. Ironic.

He does have every right to go. The Flyers cannot stop him. However, they can strongly suggest that he not go.

I'd love for them to get Cooper, but I don't think he'll be there at #9. I think they go OL. Scherff looks like a monster.

Joe Montana and Jerry Rice will lead the 49ers to victory.

And most contracts have clauses that if hurt while not playing for the franchise or doing something against there wish they lose money.

Good chance he's not there at #9 either.
