So your gonna play dumb and ignore the fact Mason would heavily learn on Mason after his three different returns from injury? No need to ease him in, no reason to use the back up goalie. You know what? Maybe Jeff Reese deserved to be fired and had no reason to be upset after all.

- SuperSchennBros

If you're going to continue to use language like playing dumb, our conversation will be over. There was no reason why Mason couldn't play normally. Reese wasn't fired.

Why I don't you have a problem with the choices the coach has made? I set the table with examples. Bellemare has started on 5 on 3 PK situations all season, why can't he do it at even strength?

- SuperSchennBros

As I said previously, he could. Couturier and Giroux for his faceoff prowess were better choices. Maybe that will change next season.

You didn't answer any of my questions but as far as I'm concerned Vinny put up 4th line number offensively as a player placed on the fourth line. Vinny isn't a defensive player. There are a lot of top 6 players around the league who aren't very good defensively.

As I said originally, you and Hextall are the only two people who have made up excuses for Berube and these are just that. Excuses.

- SuperSchennBros

I have not offered a single excuse for Berube. I simply think your outlook is wrong, and provided the reasons why. I addressed every point you made on Lecavalier. Lecavalier probably isn't a top 6 player in this league anymore. As I said earlier, he needs to adapt and change his game, and become a more dependable player in all zones, because his offensive game is no longer going to carry him.

Really?!?
- aflyerpower8

Yeah.

It kinda makes sense because Calgary is using this playoff run as more of an opportunity to get experience for the younger players. Anything more is just icing on the cake

Yeah -- lots of PP time that period for them, plus it looked like they were, indeed, spotting him

I just imagine the guy who worked all year to get the Flames to the playoffs only to be scratched for a guy who has played one game in the NHL

So was Reese fired or did he simply walk off the job? We've been singing Jeff Reeses praises since he coached Michael Leighton in 2010 and had a hand in on getting us to the Stanley Cup Final in doing so. Now this season Steve Mason has a season possibly worthy of a Vezina Nomination and just shy or the final results, Reese disappears. Why? None of us were given an explanation, so make this make sense. The only rumour that's floated around is differences between Berube and Reese on how Mason has been used. I myself have seen how Mason has been used and I myself do no agree with it.

As I said previously, he could. Couturier and Giroux for his faceoff prowess were better choices. Maybe that will change next season.

You have another defensive center at your disposal and from the looks of it, by not taking advantage of this, it may have hurt us.

As far as I'm concerned, offensively, he's put up fourth line offensive numbers. I have every reason to believe this could improve with more talented players. I guess we'll never no because the idea was never explored and that's on the Coach, as are every argument I've made.

I apologize for the spelling and grammar. I'm just fired up.

I hear you, and I don't disagree -- you are definitely not wrong

But it's crazy at this time of year. Corey Crawford got yanked after the first for the Blackhawks, after giving up three on 12 shots, Cup winner Crawford, yanked for Scott Darling

Some folks don't play around at this time of year

eh, i mean its not something that i would go out and bet the house on.

but if i'm picking, ill go with the flames.

then theyll lose to whoever next round. but the growth and experience will probably be great for them.

if bennett pans out, along with gaudreau, giordano, brodie. they have some pieces.

man, nashville is just struggling to tread water right now.

ive hated him since i first saw him. im sure hell pot a few against the pens, and itll make it worse.

but that analysis was formed the moment i saw what he looked like. granted, not the most rational reasoning, but (frank) him. his looks and playing on the rags is enough for me.

Lost composure pretty quickly in the second -- some of those penalties you can't take. I mean, they weren't cheap. They were burying guys with crosschecks

Is someone suggesting Jeff Reese was NOT fired this season?

I mean honestly, why else would a goalie coach leave three quarters into a season coaching a goalie who has a top five save percentage?

true. but i think part of that may have come from frustration due to drastically being unable to keep up in the pace of play.

rinne is on an island right now. and the preds arent generating squat of their own.

The Flyers didn't say he was fired

Ergo, he wasn't fired -- the Flyers tell all, don't you know
