I like Tippet, but his style of play might turn people off.
On the other hand, Mason might win a vezina.

If it lead to a Cup, I'll take Tippett's style.

I think it's 50/50 with Berube staying, or going. Depending on whomever else is available.

- puckhead17

I agree with this. Honestly, nothing would shock me, with respect to what they might do with Berube after the Jeff Reese thing.

Can (should?) we read anything into the fact that Berube did not accompany the rest of the Flyers' brass to the Lehigh Valley game?

I'm not of the opinion that Berube is the problem, but I'm not convinced at this point that a different voice and mindset wouldn't be beneficial to some of the younger guys on the team that the franchise must make a decision on (Couturier and BSchenn) as well as getting more out of expensive, underperforming assets (VLC and AMac).

The sad state of Philly sports right now...

I have a $10 bet with a few of my friends that OV finishes with more goals in the regular season and playoffs then the Phillies will have wins.

That's a pretty good bet for you.

Road PK from last year to this year is absurd. I know Kimmo wasn't here but that's still no excuse

Babcock is a reach and they would have to throw mad money at him, but I think Sutter is still a possibility

None of the coaches were with in Lehigh Valley so I do think that is a little interesting.

I agree. I don't think berube was the problem but I also could see where Hextall wants to bring in someone to get them over the hump now. I look at what Blashill did in Grand Rapids getting guys to develop like Nyquist and Tatar and all those guys they just bring up and they don't miss a beat and think maybe he could do some good things with the younger players we have like Couturier and Schenn and Laughton and Cousins.

I really just want someone to instill a strong identity and system that plays fast and hard.

He should wear a puppeteer outfit (whatever that is) because he's got a lot of folks dancing at his command.

Whether or not berube was part of the problem or not, they need to get a new coach for the "fresh start" they're looking for. I don't think berube was the problem either, but he was a large contributor to the problem.

If we can just give Craig Berube an All-Star cast, he'll probably get them in the playoffs. But that's only true of Craig Berube, other coaches have the same record regardless of the roster they have.

I think the roster was a bigger problem then Berube. It's just not put together well. Pieces don't fit together.

I mean is Nolan a bad coach or is the roster he was given the problem. I think sometimes it is really hard to determine if the coach is effective or not because the roster just isn't that great.

The only hockey fans who didn't hate the Devils' style of play were Devils fans.

Multiple Cups will do that to you I guess.

Don't worry. If you gave Berube an All-Star cast, he'd find ice time for Zac Rinaldo, somehow.

Related: I wonder how angry fans are gonna be if Berube gets extended, instead of fired today.
