Aube-Kubel could get a couple of games with the Phantoms if his team gets swept this week.

Better in latter part of season. Settling in.

Do you think he has any legitimate chance of ever turning into an NHL defenseman? I know we've had smaller guys before, but this guy apparently redefines that term. Not sure his tenacity is enough to get him up to the NHL unless he finds an offensive game.

Going to be tough for him, unfortunately.

Looking like they might. It looked like an even match-up going into the series, but aside from Game 1, they've had a rough go so far.

Tippet would be my guy just because I think chasing Babcock is a bit unrealistic. If Julien somehow came available that'd be a no brainer too.

I think Tippet would be a fantastic fit though with the young D men that will be coming up over the next few years.

I just want a guy who will forge a strong identity on this team.

Like Anaheim. They are fast and skilled yet very gritty and tenacious.

So their identity is skilled, fast, gritty, and tenacious? Those things seems to contradict each other.

I like Tippet, but his style of play might turn people off.
On the other hand, Mason might win a vezina.

That's what I see when they play.

In this case, I will agree with Berube and say, only wins matter. I don't care how they play to get them.

I don't disagree. But when our leading scorer has like 60 points, some people will female dog loud.

I don't think he's eligible yet, is he? He's still only 18 years old and only has 3 years in juniors.

But has Tippet really had a strong forward group? Things could change if he had a stronger forward group

Sadly, if you take the ownership of Arizona seriously in their Q&A on the site, it certainly sounds like Tippett's not leaving, at least this year.

While the owner acknowledged that the franchise was embarrassed about how they played, now that it's over, there is optimism in the draft pick they have coming and the prospect of building rapidly, plus they are going to throw some money at their most obvious holes.

The owner totally acknowledged that it was the roster, and that the GM and coach weren't really to blame because the team had been run by the NHL on a bare-bones budget.

If you're a coach and you don't get blamed for that nightmare in any way, shape or form, you can stick it out for a while

IDK that tippet has had a Giroux or Jake to work with, but he has had some decent next tier guys and done well with them. We might see a drop in the G and J show, but maybe schenn, cout etc get better.
But I also can't see tippet leaving. Management there knows they need him to squeeze water out of the desert rocks

They did.
But I think history suggests that he has been D first.
And take a look at the St. Louis scoring.
Vlad is the only guy over 70 points.

Right, I'm thinking the same thing.
There were times when Giroux struggled, imagine a strict defensive minded coach coming in? Then again, it's all about the proper fit, as Trotz has shown in Washington.
I think it's 50/50 with Berube staying, or going. Depending on whomever else is available.

The sad state of Philly sports right now...

I have a $10 bet with a few of my friends that OV finishes with more goals in the regular season and playoffs then the Phillies will have wins.

The only hockey fans who didn't hate the Devils' style of play were Devils fans.

Multiple Cups will do that to you I guess.

I believe CHL players are eligible to play in the AHL till the AHL season is over once their Junior season ends. Giroux played five games for the Phantoms in 06-07.
