We'll see what happens. I was happy with his performance. He definitely won us games where we had no business being in. I understand "but hey, every goalie can get hot" and whatever, but he fits the "big and tall" goaltending tending that teams like plus he looks pretty sharp.

But if GMTM looks elsewhere, then so be it. I believed in him so far, so I'd trust whatever he has planned.

Id be ok giving Lindback a chance, he did a good job with us but this was after Dallas sent him to the minors because they couldn't even trust him being a back up on their team and Tampa gave up on him.

That's the thing though, he has shown no reason to think this.
- Herzeleid

What has he done to make you think other wise? I think he's way behind schedule.

The NHL has to make some changes when the leading scorer in the league doesn't even have 90 points.

Overall scoring in the NHL has actually increased this year and has the past few years since the lockout, Make the crossbar a little higher and we wil be good

Say the Sabres don't win the lottery this year; Do you think GMTM throws a big offer to trade up to get McDavid? I'd overpay for him. If it takes both 1sts this year along with X Roster player or Y Prospects, I say pull the trigger.
- awildmudkip

Would you do Eichel, Risto and Girgensons for McDavid if that was the price? Cause it might be. I wouldnt

The league also have to create incentive for teams to actually want to win rather than go to OT and take your single point. Drives me nuts how many teams battling for a playoff spot just take games to OT instead of trying to win the game.

The leading point getter had 85 points this year. Gretzky had 92 GOALS in a season.....the lack of goals and over chances is a huge issue. Bettman however doesnt think so

Goalies are way better than they were even in the 90s. The problem is goalies. I wish there was more scoring too.

3-2-1 for points, but they wont do it, the league likes it tight at the wire, 3-2-1 will create more separation.

This is true, but people are also blocking more shots than ever. Smaller equipment, seems easy enough to me

Goaltending has come a long way since then, guys are just to big and the equipment is massive. You either need to limit equipment size yet again or make the nets bigger. Not sure I like the idea of making the nets bigger but not sure what else you can do.

I like that idea but like you said the league hates it and wants 27 teams playing for a playoff spot on the last day of the season.

They have already tried restircting equipment size havent they? Lundquist always seems to have the biggest pads known to man. Maybe its just an illusion

Gotta find a way to get rid of or limit:

a) dump and chase
b) neutral zone trap

its damaging the flow of the game. I mean they got rid of the two line pass but i think that just made things worse. D-men taking advantage of the fact that they can send a long pass and have a forward deflect into the corner.

Again not going to bring us up 10 spots. Love the optimism though
- Cheeseballin

I misread and thought you said 10 wins, not 10 spots, but still it's not like McEichel is the only thing we're adding to the team.

Regarding your above comment of Grigs and Pysyk for RoR. Great, so you want us to deplete aou D even more, and overpay for a player. And trade Grigs (Grigs will be better than RoR imo anyway, at least offensively). Horrible, horrible deal.

Make rinks bigger. Would greatly decrease the effectivness of trapping the nuetral zone. I dont see any other way of getting rid of it.

Not sure the bigger ice surface in Europe has reduced it, I think its actually added to it.
