I'm not assuming a quick Championship or playoffs

But when the Organization Changes its philosophy from losing to winning and with the talent that is coming to this team on opening day. Its not hard to have a 20-30 pt improvement in one year. I'm just psyched to be rooting for my team again, not trying to suggest I expect to turn it over night, Look what Florida did this year.

Who knows? I certainly don't claim to.....

Call me crazy, but I have this weird feeling that if we don't get the #1, Murray will trade for it. Whatever it takes.

I hope it happens. I'm more sold on McDavid that Eichel to carry games and make his team better. He's got a team mate in Baptiste. Familiar faces and chemistry are great things.

I'm hoping they do. But I don't think the team wants Grigorenko playing on the 4th line. Pysyk should be up here do in place of Ruhwedel, but it depends on what GMTM thinks. Plus possible new coaching staff.

Regardless, that roster is pretty much all we know of as of right now, pending (crosses fingers) trades.

legitimate hope for the future, that's what's up.

Personally, I think 70 points is the most they'd get if they're healthy all season. I don't think the McEichel factor makes the big difference next year right away. But yeah, I hope we make lots of trades this off season to round out the roster. We're loaded on LW and C right now. Make some moves for 2 top 6 RW and this line-up could get interesting.

70 points is still a bottom 5 team. That's what some of the guys here aren't getting. We are a bad bad team. Historically bad. Advance stats say we should of been EVEN WORSE than we were this year. Not to mention teams next year really won't "tank" either. We got a lot of wins this year we shouldn't have. Our roster next year Will add pysk mcheichel and kane but the rest will be similiar. 10 more wins than this year is a 50 percent improvement. Huge. I think a lot of people will be disappointed next year

If there's one thing we've learned this year, goaltending won't be a problem. It probably won us 80% of games. Just keep irbe around and find a half decent guy in FA.

Side note, Matthews would look pretty good in that lineup...just saying

Yeah... you added a top line W, a top line young stud C and all your young players will progress... You will be much improved
Probably wont make the playoffs, but wait to see who you add and subtract.

Advanced Stats are fairly misleading, though. Hockey is a funny game. You can throw all the corsi numbers you'd like, but they're not concrete. Bounces happen. As for next year, I don't think we're "Historically bad" with a healthy roster as it is now. We managed to get 54 points WITHOUT Kane. With him and McEichel and more of a well rounded line-up, given GMTM makes some moves this off-season, we have a fairly competitive roster. Wouldn't be bottom 5, but not playoffs in my opinion.

I'd argue that Reinhart does NOT make the roster next year. He didn't impress much at the NHL level this year and has LOTS of strength work to do. He's a smart and skilled player, but can't match the Physical game just yet. Next year? Questionable. My money's on a full season in AHL.

buuuuut Moulson wouldn't play RW, your top line has 3 forwards with LH shot, so not happening. I don't want Eddie Lack. At all. Pysyk > McCabe. Larsson doesn't deserve 4th line minutes.

I love McEichel but they are not going to bump this team up 10+ spots by themselves.

The historically bad was the puck possession and Corsi numbers. Yes I know it's hockey that's why we won a lot of games we should of lost. Law of averages may have it that we lose those games next year though. A lot of people are overating kane too. He has never been that more dominate of a scorer than stafford or Stewart. Actually all three have similiar goal and point numbers. Kane does play way better D but I don't think that's gonna lead to 15 more wins like some think

You do realize that 15 wins = 30 points which would bring us as 84 points. I never said we'd be that good. I think next season they get ~70 points. But yes, with Kane and a more rounded roster, they're a better team. And you're also wrong on the fact that Kane IS more dominant than Stewart AND Stafford. Kane has more Points per game than either of those two. Kane also takes more shots. Combined with what even you admit to as Kane having a better over-all Defensive game, thanks for proving my point that Kane is a more dominate player than Stafford OR Stewart.

We'll see what happens. I was happy with his performance. He definitely won us games where we had no business being in. I understand "but hey, every goalie can get hot" and whatever, but he fits the "big and tall" goaltending tending that teams like plus he looks pretty sharp.

But if GMTM looks elsewhere, then so be it. I believed in him so far, so I'd trust whatever he has planned.
