It's either 4 or 47 minors.....can't remember which.

Yep they were all completely selfish and when we were tied with 4 minutes left in the 3rd.

Keeping the stars off the ice and overworking the PK'rs isn't selfish and dumb?

Pretty close to do or die time. Two points are all that matters.

Well Kris Letang has 79 minutes pretty much entirely from minors about 40. Hes pretty selfish too.

This Lapierre vs. Goc argument is absurdly dumb. As a competent 4th line C, Goc wins hands down. The only people who think Lapierre is better are people who overinflate the ability to hit well. Our fourth line sucks? OK. Fair point. You think its soft? OK. Fair point. But adding a guy who is a fair checker but can't do anything else doesn't fix that. Making the fourth line grittier doesn't necessarily make it better. Lapierre was a downgrade over Goc.

It is dumb, just like people thinking its the reason why we are in the shape we are in now. We aren't any better in the standings or point wise with the great Marcel Goc. That is the point of this. People make it sound like that trade is costing us. No, its not.

I think Goc is better defensively plus anything to complain about no matter how small gives some people a comfort. The Pens problems are bigger than Goc, that is for sure.

No one is arguing that. Downgrading one bottom six forward isn't going to greatly affect any team. But a combination of small shakey moves are.

I used to love big games. I'm not really a good player by any stretch but I love the PK and stifling glory hog scorers in a big game. When you have no skill you have to be able to do something!

27 minors. Yeah some weren't smart, but he also PK's, has 54 points and is easily the best overall D on the roster......so all things considered, it's a little easier to overlook his transgressions.

Rather have an effective forward that commits penalties than a would-be Lady Bing candidate if it wasn't for his offensive ineptitude. I think the question that you have to ask yourself is if they were both 1 mil, would you rather have Steve Downie or Nick Spaling without the PK abilities? I'd go with Downie.

I guess the way I look at it is I don't want either of them because I don't think either of them are integral to winning.

In an either/or situation, yeah, I'd take Downie and pray he stays out of the box.

Late to party but not sure this team was best fit for a coaches first NHL job... Also disagree about what this team needs to do to become better in the offseason. Major changes and use younger guys more. Value draft picks.

BTW Go Pens

Also Flyer guys would you be ok with losing to Ottawa on purpose the final game if it kept Pens out of Playoffs?
