We wont be doomed but it will definitely be a "typical Buffalo" feeling. It ain't easy being a Buffalo sports fan lol.

And i think that guy is a very very big debby downer troll lol

Yeah, I've really noticed that reading these boards over the last while. Pessimism is bred into Buffalo fans.
These threads have been incredibly entertaining for awhile. It's like a suicide hotline!

Since Ive been old enough to actually appreciate the sport, the oilers really only have a couple (probably 2-3) exciting playoff runs in 20 years for me to remember fondly. with the rest mediocre to brutal, so I know the feeling

You know the feeling but at the same time when people hate on the Oilers you can backup the franchise with the cups "even if it was before you could remember". I was just a baby for the Bills epic fails in the early 90s. So I really only know the Bills as losers with over a decade of no playoffs. The Sabres on the other hand had some successful years. The Hasek years and the Drury/Briere years. Those were exciting times for sure.

Ted Nolan and his merry band of misfits think they are cute playing 110% and giving it their all. This isn't a children's book. Grow up Theodore. You're setting the Sabres up for another decade of medocrity...but it's okay, we are small town America. We will line up in droves to buy playoff tickets and pack in your plaza buying $8 beer just to witness another first or second round playoff exit... we are like idiot drones, who return time after time to their abusive spouse...always looking for love, but always receiving a swift slap to face..As we all know, the Coyotes will not claim another point the rest of the season, that being said, the way the Sabres are playing, getting 3 out of the next 8 available points is all but a LOCK. congrats to the 2014-15 Buffalo Sabres for winning the 29th place championship and dooming the franchise to another decade of mediocrity.

True.

No titles ever is tough. Then when u add to that multiple years of bottom feeding (bills or Sabres) it's easy to get pessimistic of it ever turning around.
Like even the Sharks for example, they don't have a title, but was probably still pretty good to be a fan over the last decade. True contenders for almost ten years.

But there's a few posters who need to take a step back and realize it's not a giant conspiracy, Murray has done what he could, now you just have to wait and hope. Sports aren't a sure thing. That's what makes them so great.

I didn't finish last night's case of Genny Bock until this morning, but I stopped by the liquor store for a bottle of El Dorado before lunch time.

Honestly one of my best friends is a Devils fan and if we finish 30th and don't win the lottery I hope you guys do. After the BS Kovalchoke 1st rounder thing and him douching off to the KHL not to mention Parise, it would be cool to see you guys catch a break.
- Orphen22

Dylan Strome falling to us at #6 would be catching a break. Winning the lottery and drafting Connor McDavid #1 would be a freaking miracle!

That would be amazing though... I'd give anything to see the reaction from other fan bases like NY, Philly, Toronto, etc. if that happened. The Kovy penalty was total BS (because 5-6 teams had already circumvented the cap w/o penalty) but we did win the lottery once before [Adam Larsson] so I doubt it would happen again for a while.

Yea the loss of the 1st was a joke. I always liked the Devils and would have no issue watching McDavid play for you guys. Better then the Leafs, Oilers, or Yotes.

I'm holding out hope with 5 games in 8 nights that we see Makarov tonight and maybe once more against Clb. I'd assume Lindback would be the starter in the final game.

Defecation like this makes my head numb.

So I have this right, you expect the players that are trying to keep their playing careers alive and a coach whose job it is to coach and win hockey games to just quit and not try anymore?
Not being disrespectful but you must not have ever played organized sports.

For who are the players and Teddy doing this for?

For Murray? To make Murray look good?
To make Murray's job easier so he can look like a genius when he drafts McDavid or Eichel?

Am I getting this right?

Am I playing along properly?

Let the players and Teddy do their jobs that they get paid to do.

Let Murray worry about how he is going to build a winner without taking the easy path.

Most of the talent in the system and on this team was acquired mostly by Darcy.
This direction was also begun by Darcy, this was not Murray's plan.

I am clearly not as enamored with Murray as most here are.
If Teddy and his players fall from 30th position simply from doing what they get paid to do has Murray failed at what he gets paid to do?

Because signing Gionta , Meszaros, Strachan, Benoit were certainly not moves to win but rather to OPENLY lose.

I am tired of hearing about the disdain for Teddy for doing nothing more than what he gets paid to do and the praises that get sung for a guy in Murray that has done NOTHING for this franchise yet...nothing!

It's become unconscionable.

tough to see strome going that low. pretty unlikely under any scenario.

Toronto needs a center as does Arizona as does buffalo.
all 3 will be in the top 5 pretty much no matter what, and once mceichel is off the table, hes the next obvious choice.
theres zero chance buffalo doesn't take strome at 3. and even if Arizona took hanifin at 3, I cant see the oilers going with provorov over strome. neither can I see the leafs going with provorov/marner over strome.

I don't think Nolan is the right person for the job but that's my opinion. I think we need more of a teacher at this point and I just don't see Nolan as that guy. As for Murray, I'll reserve judgement on him for a couple more years, thus far I am not enamoured with anything he as done. IMO what he has done is average thus far but time will tell.

Devils fans still scratch their head over that one. I guess Lou couldn't pass up a chance to draft Stefan Matteau. Time will tell if Matteau + John Quenneville was the right move; had NJ forfeited the Matteau pick they would have had #11 last year (Kevin Fiala)

Evander Kane says hi. And what has Teddy done? The team is 39-84-17 since he took over. No coach survives with a record like that.

Nick Foligno just scored a hat trick with an empty net goal. 30 goal season. Jackets have won 12 of their last 13. I think you can count that game as a loss. Pittsburgh is in trouble of being the 8 seed. They are going to need to win that last game of the season. This is a good result for us.
