Pens called off practice tomorrow...wonder what the hell that is about. Probably because they ran their team into the ground playing short handed for the last two weeks. Its unreal how bad they have been managed this past month. If Malkin had someone who could finish on his line, they could have had about 5 goals today. He looked good, flying out there. Good thing they traded Simon for Lovejoy....Didn't people bag on Simon for TO in his own end? What the hell do we call what Scuds has been doing for the past month? The more the season goes on, this trade looks worse and worse.

Why was Perron on the 3rd line?

Someone posted something about 71 fighting with Comeau a few pages back, anyone have the story?

Well, I mean...how many times did Malkin set up Comeau and he just crapped the bed. I don't understand the coaching staff, I think they have lost the team completely. Here is another question, who is "injured" on Tuesday, so the Pens can play with 6 dmen again. I think Downies injury was equal to a healthy scratch today.

I looked at it as a demotion. Perron was pretty terrible again IMO. I can't believe he's the same player we saw when he first arrived. He's brutal in all 3 zones lately.

Maybe these guys are just gassed? I mean, they have played a ton of hockey lately being short handed....I also hear the MJ practices are pretty brutal. Not that, that is an excuse, but running your team into the ground in the final stretch of games right before the playoffs probably isnt the best idea.

Yeah he has flamed out in true Pens fashion lately.

87 71 and 72 are the only F's consistently playing good hockey.

How awesome was BB's 2 penalties? He is God awful with the rest of the bottom 6.

I do think Sutter is better suited for a 2C role on an average or crappy team. He's def not a shutdown 3C or ever will be which is what the Pens desperately need. He's putting up decent #'s for his TOI and having BB/Spaling/Downie as line mates most of the year. I think Sutter would have done well in EDM and Sutter for Perron would have been more fair looking back.

More fair? For whom? We're pretty happy with the return we got for Perron.

I honestly dont see the need for tough physical practices day in and day out. They are pro athletes in peak condition, they are the top .0001% of those that play. They have nothing to gain by brutal practices at this point in their careers. Adding tough physical practices to a 82 game season is stupid and counterproductive. Practice should be for learning a system/countering an opponent. Not trying to be in great shape, they already are.

Hopefully he's tapering the physical training down - that would be the responsibility of their strength & conditioning coach not the HC. If he is still training hard he has no clue!

My proposed return was rejected by your colleagues Jero, they were pretty nice about it really all things considered.

They are taking care of business but they are going 'SOFF'. (frank)ers!

Sutter and a lower pick/prospect for Perron....Looking back EDM won the trade with the 1st.

Yeah, Bennett is just terrible now. If we make the playoffs let's hope he gets scratched and we bring up Wilson or Rust.....or anybody for that matter.

As much as I bag on Sutter, he was good this weekend. Kind of reminds me of the guy we saw last playoffs.

I remember reading an article when the Pens play the Hawks, that the Hawks players were shocked at how hard and intense the Pens practiced. I understand you need a hard practice here and there, but if he is still running them hard after playing short a player for a week or so, thats grounds to be canned right there. I think HCMJ has lost this team all together. The PP still looks just awful, which I can not understand.

On a positive note, Letang is suppose to start light workouts tomorrow on his own. No Hoff on Tuesday though, so I would look for Downie to sill be "injured"

I honestly think its a pretty fair trade. I wonder how he would play with Malkin, because Blake was just horrid with him today.

I'd love to see Perron get a chance with Malkin and bump Comeau to the 3rd.

It was a fair deal. Just sucks that he's so bad right now. They can't afford to be demoting a top 6 wing because of poor play......not just offense, but defensively too.

As bad as Comeau was today, he was better than Perron.......and that is the sad reality.

Do you keep Winnik on the top line then?

I would run that for a night and take a look at it to be honest.

Comeau needs to bury all those chances he had today. Malkin set the table for him at least 5-6 times...should have had at least 1 goal there from him.

So OTT got a pt today. 95 vs 93 in pts with 6 pts remaining. With the way DET is playing it might not matter Tuesday.

Can't argue with that. Maybe they should shift Perron back to the right. He was killing it at RW when he first got here.
