I dont think it is unfair at all. DP looked out of place in the defensive zone all game. Obviously the turnover was the nail in his coffin for the game.

it's not a big deal, play him next game and let him get out of it. i think he is still our better option come playoff time.

good young players will have bad games, doesnt mean you can give them free passes.

Not giving him a 'free pass'. but damn right I keep playing him.

By all means, when Geno comes back and we go down a defenseman, go ahead and put Chorney in for Pouliot and Ebbett in for Bennett. I'm sure that's exactly what we need to win.

I want the least mistake prone lineup out there. That's all I'm saying. DP has been having some problems recently. Teams are keying on him, pressuring him into mistakes. It's not a slight on the guy.....I'm just stating the obvious that he's struggling in his own zone a bit. You want to kill the guy confidence? Let him struggle in another critical game.

They'll have 5 D tomorrow. I honestly think its a mistake to have that kid on the ice.

I think the team will have Pouliot in it until the playoffs start. He has to make mistakes to learn & at the moment these games are quickly becoming life & death (so to speak). So if he can get it right now great. If he cannot then he must learn & that's something that he cannot do unless he plays.

On the other hand - who is a better option? Wearing down a struggling D by playing 5 is suicide a week before the playoffs. Lighten his load a bit but he should play in my opinion.

Edit: just on another note, everyone wanted a change for this season well we sure have got it now. 3 points from missing out & 4 games left. This will definitely change the attitude of the players for the better. It will harden our little princesses up to play hard playoff hockey before they even start. Completely different from cruising into the playoffs - time will tell people.

But what's the alternative? Chorney playing 20 minutes tomorrow ....pass.

It really doesn't matter who we play today in Philly. It's a loss.

You should put some money on that if you're that confident.

So seeing as though we aren't dressing Bobby Farnham, do you think there will be any hockey in the game V The 'let's jump anyone not looking at us & use a stinky excuse to defend ourselves', Orange team NOT PLAYING PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR, Flyerz?

No Letang for Rinaldo to blind side, Scuds will be ready this time round when ever that germ Vorachek lurks behind him & maybe Lappy can square up Claude a few times without getting his arse touched or bitten!

Law of averages we have to get one eventually - right?

If the pens don't get up for and win this game they're done. It's philly, malkins back, and you're about to lose your playoff spot. Don't need much more motivation.

If he is that fragile then he is going to have a short career. DP is in to stay, Sit Bennett and play 6 D.

For being such overrated players and bad leaders, they sure are valuable to the Pens success. It's almost as if the team can't compete without them both in the lineup...

Pens longest win streak was 7 games back in OCT/NOV. Since then only a few 3 games stretches.

While I agree with the blog 100%, if Letang doesn't go in at such a bad angle and gets up, we aren't discussing "these types" of hits today. Sucks that he's out, hope he's back for the playoffs.

IDK, 58 put himself in an awkward position, but when 58 hits the boards the puck is at center ice. I think it was a bit late but not malicious.

That angle makes it look so bad. But I also think any hit from that angle will look like attempted murder.

Agreed. I really don't think Doan did it to hurt anyone (why would he in this case), but he was a bit late. But man, that thud's scary.

This too. Anyone who's never played or sat in the front row doesn't have an idea of how hard every single hit is. But when you've got a guy like Doan sending a guy like Letang flying into the boards, it's a hell of an impact.

So sick of the "You guys had Matt Cooke/James Neal" defense. Most (not all) Penguins fans do not excuse those hits at all.

Players wipe out and crash into the boards every game. Sometimes from being tangled up, sometimes from being pushed, sometimes from just losing an edge. Every single one of those crashes look and sound exactly like this.
