Yea. The concept of rounding out your roster through UFA signings is flawed. Because if you sign a UFA to a $1.5M contract, you're getting a $1.5M player. When you fill yor roster out through the draft, you get a young kid making $900K but producing like a $3M+ player.

It really takes all avenues to build a team. It all falls apart if you don't have that foundation, though. A strong pipeline and stock enables better trading, and UFA works out better when you're just getting that last piece or two, and have the ELCs to straighten out the salary structure.

Great read... This is what I have been saying.. management has not done enough... they could have easily put scuds or adams o waivers in beginning of year and cleared cap space to let young guys play... and hope someone picked up one of them...

No one would pick up Adams or Scuderi. And DK's other suggestion of putting Bennett on waivers is idiotic beyond words.
