I personally think Malkin is more vital to the Penguins success than Crosby... - j.boyd919
That is certainly a viable argument. Crosby means a lot in terms of leadership and branding though. And Crosby is more gernerally more consistent..though Geno has been great all year.
I hate talking about trading either one but I will say any Malkin trade only make sense if we get many good pieces plus 1 elite piece to spread the wealth. Malkin-Lundqvist based package doesnt accomplish much imo.

Crosby is essentially the only untradeable player in the league (barring some crazy stupid overpayment) because of what his name means to the Penguins. Malkin is a beloved superstar. Sidney Crosby, right now, is the Penguins.
*Former NHL goalie Jamie McLennan, that is, so you know he knows what he's talking about.

I'm aware of former Islanders superstar Jamie McLennan and his current role alongside the legendary Kevin Weeks and HHOFer Kelly Chase on the NHL Network.

So then you understand the list.
1. Lundqvist
2. Every other NHL goalie
3. Mason
4. Emery
Not sure they can make as big a leap as this year but I don't see anything that suggests they won't be as strong again. - Scoob
Logic suggests that for sure. But logic also suggested that after the lockout year. And with Edmonton like every single year. And with Dallas and Colorado this year. We'll see.

How is De Haan progressing this year? Logic suggested he'd take steps forward this year - rangerdanger94
That's debatable since most ex players say it takes about 300 games on Defense before you start to see what the player is about. Kind of like what you are seeing with Hamonic this year You just keep those meaty fingers crossed
This game tomorrow is so much bigger than it appears to be, the 2 games against the Flyers are must wins. They will be playing their hearts out so we need to do the same. At the same time keeping our heads, all except Downie and Lappy; they need to lose it often and early.

You guys would be doing the Flyers a solid favor by winning both. We will gladly take the losses. My only wish is that someone take Rinaldo out, and for the Pittsburgh fan base to talk about how horrible it is to play goon hockey but to secretly be happy about it.

Remember like 2 years ago when I said Reinhart and Pulock won't be impact players for you for 4-5 years? I got a lot of poop for that
It won't be a secret. All bets are off. - Emperor Filonius
Whoa whoa whoa...wasn't this the forum that was talking about playing Flyers-level "goon" hockey and taking players out was what's wrong with hockey nowadays?
I've lost a lot of interest in Reinhart. Still a big Pulock fan though. Still think he ends up being the best value of that draft. - jmatchett383
Agreed with you there. Reinhart was overhyped but Pulock looks like the real deal. Regardless, he's still a few years away from becoming a true impact player.

Yeah, but most players are. Every fan base wants immediate return from their picks, but the guys who can step right in are few and far between.
