Yeah, exactly, going East-West is still a chore for Morin.

Sanheim does get a bit too aggressive, no argument there. He does have the skating ability to recover, though.

- Jsaquella

Sanheim I can see jumping right into the NHL and some fans being up in arms that he's being rushed. I don't expect him to make the team next season but I don't expect him to trail Morin.

It's going to be an interesting couple of years. We can only hope that they'll turn out to be anything remotely close to a Suter/Weber or Keith/Seabrook pair.
- SuperSchennBros

I really do feel Sanheim could be a legit top pair guy, if not a legit number one. I think he's like Duncan Keith more than McDonagh, but I see what Button meant when he made that latter comparison.

I think Morin might be a nastier version of Coburn. Not saying he can't be more, but I'm not sure he'll be an offensive guy at NHL level. At least not at first.

Rinaldo would hit him with his stick

He's been really good of late. Had a couple moments of dumb right after suspension, but has not had anything obviously dumb in past couple weeks

- Jsaquella

He's going to play like 60+ games next year isn't he?

If Sanheim and Morin can be paired and Morin can play the right side, the points will come. Morin just needs to be pairs with a naturally offensive partner and have a hard and accurate shot.

i dont know why, but i really think sanheim is going to be better than ghost. not only overall, but even only taking offense into consideration. i think he will be the PP guy who makes it go.
- stayinthefnnet

Ghost also just missed a full year of development.

i dont think him becoming a nastier version of coburn will be a bad thing. especially if you can pair him with sanheim, who really does have some keith like moments from the footage ive seen.

that would be a hell of a pair.

I think expecting either Morin or Sanheim next season is being impatient. Morin might need a couple full seasons(with call ups sprinkled in) to be fully ready. I think Alt & Manning could be penciled in for next season as 6-7 guys, maybe Gostisbehere could be a mid-season call up. Maybe look for Morin and Sanheim in 2016-17.

Hagg is the outlier. He's kind of stagnated in the AHL. I've seen him look great and awful. If he adjusts quickly, he could be a viable mid-season option, like Ghost.

that is true. definitely caught a bad break as to when it happened.

i dont know, i just think sanheim will be better. ghost may be better at going end to end, or making fancier moves in space, but as far as being able to actually run the PP, i think sanheim will be better.

No, I didn't mean it as a knock. I'm not trying to downplay him, he could come in and with development and hard work be a monster, too. Chara took 4 or 5 seasons to really become a force, and with Morin's skating he's got a huge asset outside of his size.

EDIT: One of the things I get excited about if the Flyers get Provorov is him and Sanheim as guys who can anchor the defense. Similar guys, and both project as really good all around players.

No they won't. That series is a coin flip imo. Isles haven't played well. If the Pens get some of their injured players back they can win that series, and then who knows after that. The only team they don't really match up well against is the Rags

If the MAF who showed up in the 2008 & 2009 playoff shows up, I think the Pens can beat the Isles. Not an easy task, but that would be the best 1st round matchup in the East.

perhaps im just trying to convince myself otherwise because the thought of that is terrifying, but im really hoping he doesnt blossom into some chara esque stud. granted, the odds of that are relatively low for virtually any prospect.

i do think the odds are good that he isnt some lumbering waste of space though. i just dont see any plays showing great hands or awareness from him. granted, i know thats not his game, but you should be able to put together a highlight package with something of the sort at least in juniors. however, the size is definitely there and that is something you simply cannot teach. and he looks like he absolute revels in being a mauler.

i dont know if he will ever be as good of a skater as coburn. coburn had some pretty good wheels for a guy his size. but he really never seemed to want to use his size in a way that morin appears to relish.

Of all the kids, Morin probably has the biggest variance in potential outcomes. \

He could be that late-blooming stud that all GMs dream about, to an early Bryan Allen, to a 3rd-pair disappointment like Luke, to a replacement-level journeyman like Keaton Ellerby, all the way down to a guy like Teubert who's currently pounding guys in the German league.

I'm not sure any of these outcomes are any more unlikely than the others at this point.

Yeah, I don;t know if he'll ever skate like Coburn, but Morin likes to hurt people. Coburn could get physical, but it was always, sort of like, "Well, if you're going to get rough about it..."

Morin is the kid of guy that will start the roughness and nastiness. He's got a huge mean streak, and with his size, that can be scary.

The hands/puck skills is where he's lagging behind a guy like Myers.
