Was it? I'm trying to look it up.

It would really take a special circumstance. Perhaps the Flyers will be so tight to the cap next year, they'll just ride things out without a backup.

Nope, might as well buy him several cases of beer to deal with his pain.

You're gonna need to send over something stronger than that...

IIRC, Parent had something like 37 consecutive starts in the first Cup season
- Jsaquella

Wow. That's nuts starting a goalie that many games in a row. Was there less back to backs in the 70's?

With far less teams, there was less travel of course.

Awful loss at home by the Jets. Losing to them bum (frank)ing stiffs in a huge game.

I have about 14-18 names I'd be happy with. All three of those are in the group
- Jsaquella

Carlo seems to be of the same mold as Sanheim and Morin. Huge, fast, two-way, lanky with tons of room to fill out (a good trait for value picks imo). Seems like a good value pick even though his skill set is a bit redundant in our prospect pool.

He's more Morin than Sanheim. Sanheim is an excellent and productive two way defenseman, Carlo is a fluid skater, but doesn't really have the offensive upside Sanheim has.

Still would be a great addition to the prospect group as a late first rounder.

You have 10 names you'd like to pick there. Who would be your absolute favorite #1 guy to pick there?

Less travel, less concern about goalies and their workloads and let's face it, the difference between Bernie Parent at the height of his game and Bobby Taylor is kind of like going from Carey Price to Mike Smith.

Are there any specific guys you see falling? Our pick is so late in the 2nd round that we'd have to trade up to poach those 1st round fallers.
- JAKEw1234

Not sure I'd see them fall that far but anything is possible.

Yup.

So if the Bolts get knocked out in the first round, that pick could be as high as # 20?

Of the realistic names, Jake DeBrusk. I have doubts that Svechnikov and Bittner will fall, but I like Carlo, Roy, Zboril, Larsson and Meloche and Greenway, Sprong, Bracco and Boeser, all of whom could be there.

I have a lot more names for that pick than the 1st pick. If they are drafting at 7, they should get a shot at Barzal or Provorov, and I've come to really like both. The second pick, could end up anywhere, so I'm looking at more names.

Depends if they win their division,

Entry Draft Order
The order of selection among the Member Clubs in each season shall be determined in the following manner:
A composite of all Member Clubs shall be prepared by placing:

i) First the Clubs which failed to qualify for the preceding playoffs in the order of points earned by each of them in the regular schedule of the preceding season starting with the Club having the lowest points total and followed by the Club having the next lowest points total, and so forth.

ii) The Clubs which participated in the preceding playoffs (but had not been ranked first in their respective Divisions and had not won the Stanley Cup that season) in order of points earned by each of them in the regular schedule of the preceding season starting with the Club having the lowest total points and followed by the Club having the next lowest total points, and so forth.

iii) The Clubs which had been ranked first in their Divisions during the next preceding season (but had not won the Stanley Cup that season) in the order of points earned by each of them in the regular schedule of the preceding season starting with the Club having the lowest total points and followed by the Club having the next lowest total points, and so forth.

iv) The Stanley Cup winner shall select last, thus, positioning all Clubs on the list.

In the event of a tie for any position, such tie shall be resolved by application of the rules governing the determination of final League standings. The resulting list shall constitute the order of selection.
