touche buddy.
although i wouldnt call despres a top pairing defender just yet. definitely one i wouldnt have made though. not that lovejoy has been awful in his return, but just. ugh.
i really think there needs to be something off the ice with him.
but the point remains! to get a legitimate top pairing D, the cost would have some absolutely riotous. - stayinthefnnet
Yeah, I'm sure it would be. Age depending, I'm open to dealing for one using the Flyers picks. It'd need to be a young guy, obviously, but I'd listen |

i thought last year a guy like Roman Josi would have been someone to target, but he has sky rocketed and at this point is playing himself into the untouchable range.
i think that would be the way i would look to go. obviously cant gut everything for someone like doughty or PK, but give pretty good value if you can to try and pry out a guy who has shown good flashes if you can. teams probably arent really parting with them, but you never know.
still paying a pretty penny most likely, but its not like it necessarily disrupts the rebuild. youth for youth, as opposed to the typical veteran, big buff/phaneuf type acquisition. |

Agreed. Need to identify the next Josi or OEL before they explode and really become absolute untouchables. |

Everything I hear for 3-6 is Hanifin, Provorov, Strome and Marner is some order. |

Hexy at the STH Town Hall said building from ground 0 isn't an option with the Flyers. None of the people managing it are built that way and the fans aren't built that way. Sucking for 5 years isn't an option. They will be patient and rebuild, but not by burning it to the ground.
And startlingly, I sold my ticket for Easter at not much of a loss in less that 24 hours. So someone still wants to pay to see them. (Or the Pens, which, welcome to it buddy.)
That will be my 17th home game missed in 20 years. - bodiva88

true. i may have personally pulled the trigger on that one there, but at the same time, i see why they didnt.
both schenn's and coots' stars had a little more luster then. and that really would have been considered a gutting. |

Looking at the standings. We are locked into a top 9 pick at worst. Colorado is the next worst at 82 pts. |

I've hated baseball since I was like 4. My dad is a die hard white sox fan... And every time he puts on a (frank)ing sox game I get sick to my stomach. How can anyone just sit through that? The only time I can watch baseball is at Wrigley, after about 15 beers, consume another 5 at the ballpark, and even then it's pretty torturous. Like you said, the batter takes 2 minutes between every pitch... what the (frank) are they doing? They're playing a sport.. they don't need to be making their uniforms look pretty for the other dudes they're playing against... for (frank)s sake they play a game in DIRT. No poop your uniforms and cleats will get dirty. so between the 15-20 minutes it takes to get the minimum 3 batters through, then you take another 5-10 minutes to let the prima donna's stretch their arms... even though they just threw a ball not 15 minutes earlier.... I don't know... I just really don't understand the sport, don't understand the dynamics, don't understand the fans, don't understand anything about it at all. - benjichronic

Selling mine for Easter too......and not because of the team, but because of the AWFUL start time. |
