And the Leafs play extra hard against the Sabres. We could easily lose that one.

This Board was a "Ghost-Town" Saturday Night, but I figured we would be out in Full Force tonight

Now your on it Fitz.
I wouldn't trade what was discussed earlier to go from 2 to 1 in this draft, BUT
I sure as hell would be willing to move into 2 from 1 if the Sabres won the lottery.
However, rather than years of draft picks, I would want a couple of bonafide starters and A level prospects. I would trust the draft position of that team 2+ years down the line (I'm thinking of the learnings from Vanek trade... That didn't work out as we suspected it may have).

- IonSabres

Besides the A level prospects (Gormley, Domi), I don't think AZ has the bona-fide starters we need, besides OEL.

Would you do it for OEL, Domi and the 2nd pick?

Personally, that's not enough for me.

We also lost the last one and we may not have Ennis this time

Think back to the last game. They fought us tooth and nail on that one.

I'm afraid Ennis is going to try to come back to get his 20 goals. Save him till after we clinch and then play him 30 minutes or whatever he needs to get it.

Agreed...then I would take their 2016 1st as well...since they would clearly suck again as we would have robbed all their potential stars.

I would do that in a heartbeat (I also wouldn't do the previous suggestions about Reinhart, 2nd pick ++ for the same reasons). Anyone who doesn't do that is still undervaluing Eichel BIGTIME.

I would do OEL and the 2nd pick for McDavid all day.

OEL is a top 10 player in the entire league IMO. It's amazing what he can do on that AZ team

I wouldn't put him top 10 but that deal also included Domi. I'm sorry but the gap between McDavid and Eichel is not OEL and Domi.

Agreed

before the myers trade i really put some thought into OEL for 2nd pick swap. I know Eichel is great but the thought of OEL and Myers made me drool.

Murray has said he had discussions with multiple teams about their young goalies. And that he'd revisit that in the offseason.
Presumably, that leads me to believe he's looking or a young goalie that can grow with this team & be around for a while.
That trade will happen when the deal is right, but from what he said before it seems like he wants to do it sooner than later.

Why do u say it's a "2yrs away" kind of move?

- jdfitz77

In 2 years we will need that goalie. whether he is already here or not. The prospects we have now should be having a tag as great or bust. Just my thoughts.

Both players are AWESOME!

I see Echel being more "Messier" like.......

I see McDavid being move "Gretzky" like......

I would choose Messier

- MEBSabresFAN

Can't go wrong with either IMO
Also to consider...
Girgensons plays a Messier-style game where Reinhart would come off as Gretzky-like.
While McDavid is blazing fast, Eichel is also said to be a very good skater.
Lose tonight & we basically locked one of them up.
Go Yotes!

I mean it's so doubtful anyone trades McDavid...
But (assuming Murray is also VERY high on Eichel) listening to what Arizona might offer to move up can't hurt.
They're pretty deep in defense. So if guess maybe one of their young defensemen + a good young forward prospect (Domi? Duclaire? Someone like that anyways)

It does seem like Murray really likes McDavid though. So my guess is he'd want more than Arizona would be willing to give up.
