He's having a hell of a season, might just turn out to be a big time blessing falling as far as he did in the draft.

He could be a thing, as could NAK and Lindblom. Solid picks.

Given your job wouldn't you be a lot more Karl Hungus?

Agreed, I think they are in good position & can add to it in June.

I hope so. I don't know if any of them project as top-6 NHL players (NAK maybe the most) but they look like viable candidates to crack the roster.

Meh.. he and Straka could be guys that make it with the Flyers, but I dont think they odds are in their favor. At least to be offensive contributors that is.

Yes, I know Straka got a few games in already.

I think you're over looking the season he continues to turn in. That kid can pass the puck with the best of them.

Sounds like a perfect fit for the Penguins' power play.

You have to let things play out, see how things project after their junior/college days are over.

Fazleev took a step back to scouts being hurt last year & his slow start this year but he's done very well & is one who holds his own in all zones.

Hell he was even paired with Sanheim at the point on power plays late in the season.

I know. Last year there were 22 centers in the league who had 60 or more points. look at past seasons.
- MJL

Due to injuries...there are more 60 point capable centers in the league than 22

And I'm looking at the situation through the eyes of a Cup Contender. I want my 2nd line center capable of providing 60 pts a year. We shouldn't have to settle for less if we are building a contender.

I wouldn't be stunned if they ended up signing 5 or 6 guys out of that 2014 draft class to ELCs. Already have three (Sanheim, Aube-Kubel & Pitbull) Could see Lindblom, Fazleev & Friedman getting deals in future

We have touched on this many times here. As fans, a lot of times we just assume guys around the league can score points at will and what not. In reality, 50 points in the NHL puts you in the top 10% in the league. Thats pretty impressive stuff.

It's not easy, no. I just think that B. Schenn came with expectations that he'd be more akin to Derek Stepan than he is to Troy Brouwer.

And you would have also tought that at least one guy would get 90 points in the NHL...

Nope. Scoring is way down across the board. That has a trickle down affect as well. Cant predict when a kid is going to have his break out year.

Im not saying that we shouldnt be disappointed.. I would have hope both Couts and Schenn would already be drumming on the 50 point door..

Schenn is much more disappointing to me. He was given a golden ticket when he got on that line with G and Jake, but he couldnt produce.

Im not sure what the next step is, but a few more years like this and there will certainly be change.
