not to me, but anyway it'll be in the bottom 5. We can pick 2 good prospects anywhere from 31-60

Damn Columbus, two early 2nds too. If there's a good deal to be made im sure management would look at it. All depends on what other picks they aquire in trades for Kessel Phaneuf Bozak or whoever gets traded.

all we need to do is flip Nashville's pick for two 2nds. That would give us a 1st, 2X 2nds, 2X 3rds, 2 X 4ths. Not bad if we can pull it off, would stock the cupboard nicely

Same with Palat. 116 points in his last 150 games (this season and last), taken in the 7th round. Same height as Brown, similar weight (174 vs 170lbs), and he's just tearing it up.

(frank)ing Cherry though, complaining about Brown still being in the AHL... has he not spent the last 15 years watching Toronto ruin prospects by rushing them?

Marlies are two points out of a payoff spot. Bringing up the leading scorer to play a few meaningless games is beyond stupid.

Yup, especially one who is not yet ready for the NHL. Give him another year or so to ply his trade with the Marlies and then he'll be good to go.

So often the "Detroit model" is proclaimed as being a great model, but then when we have the audacity to try it we get stupid comments like these from Cherry...

Same here. I'm at the point that I now deliberately do other things (usually prepare a drink/some food) or just put the TV straight onto mute...

We need to have Carolina get at least a point, because if we are tied with them, we have a better record because of the ROW. However, having the Panthers beating out both the Sens and Bruins is a delicious thought. Go Canes....getter tied up!

I'm not worried about the canes. Not enough games left to win two more than them plus they have 2 games in hand.

I'm hoping both the Bruins and Sens don't make it and the Panthers do.

A nice quote from NHL.com reaffirming my point from yesterday about the benefit of the concensus list versus the individual lists for prospect rankings:

"Initially, you don't get the consensus right away, so you have to go around and around and listen to everyone else's opinions and thoughts," NHL Director of Central Scouting Dan Marr said. "Sometimes the most obvious point becomes the most salient point, and then it just helps put it all together so there's nothing difficult about it.

"Once we get the consensus, it's usually the right decision. It's not that it's difficult or challenging but just an exercise we must go through. Based on the track record and over time for Central Scouting and the NHL teams, the group list is always the best list."

OK Canes, time to get the lead. Make the Bruins pay. Carolina has always played Boston tough. They where a thorn in the side of them, when they where the Hartford Whalers.
