I think nothing changes. Hextall does what he planned all along, to draft well, build from within, and supplement the roster with FA signings when its prudent.

That's key. To sign effective players, to fill a very specific role whether it's 4th line defensive duties, scoring depth, etc., but you have to sign when appropriate.
