Colorado is not a good team. Our team of Amerks kind of dominated them at times. If we had gotten goaltending like we have at other times this season this game would have been 3-1 for the Sabres.

This game was a little payback of our December run. Outplay a team handily, and lose a game you should have won. Just like back then, when we won numerous games we never should have.

Yes, but the Avs really are a 2 line team and 1 Dman right now, everyone else is AHL plugs. It is true, they are not a well rounded team this year

Cliche, McLeod, Freddie Hamilton, Hishon, Caron making up your bottom 6 isn't going to scare many teams. When your 3rd line C is now your 2nd line LW while missing guys like MacKinnon, McGinn, Johnson, and to a less extent better depth guys in Bordaleau, Winchester, and Wilson. You will have serious issues late in the season.

Team has something like 450+ man games lost this season, only second to the Blue Jackets for most in the NHL. That this season has shown is that they have amazing top end talent and then a dramatic fall off when it comes to their depth players. Can be fixed with smart offseason management.

You may not understand the power of the "Jinx" rule, but your assessment of games and players is always "Dead-On"

So am I the only one who thinks Lindback was pulled so Hackett could play 40 mins which counts as a game played so the Sabres retain his RFA rights?

@PBRnSabres2 any combination of points lost by Buffalo and won by Arizona adding up to 20 clinches 1st for the Sabres.

The Sabres can go 3-4 with all regulation wins and they will still finish in 30th.

We are almost in the garage.

Could be Magic Number going from 9 to 5

An OT win for Buffalo would mean one point (out of a 2 point game) lost for the Sabres.

It would become 12/20. Count up, not down.

With the right outcomes, this could be over before the Isles game

Lose in regulation Mon (AZ), Wed (Tor) and Fri (Chi) and AZ gets a point Fri (SJ).

OT Win for Buffalo would be Buffalo 2pts Add
OT LOSS for Yotes would be 1pt add

9 + 1 = 10 - 2 = 8

Magic Number would be 8

If we win in Regulation.
Magic Number Starts at 9

Buffalo + 2 Magic Number 9 + 2 = 11

I agree. I am counting up to a combination of points lost by Buffalo and points gained by Arizona.

You are counting down.

Either way, we are almost there.
