So, Eichel is what like, 18? So whoever drafts him what happens? Does he stay at BU for another 3 years and finish a degree or what? I doubt he'd play right away, seems like McDavid will but I doubt Eichel does. I dunno, he's in NCAA so how does it all work?
- DynamicThreads

Eichel will play in the NHL right away. In theory he could reject an entry level deal and finish his college career, but i highly doubt that.

if the goaltending is what it is tonight you are correct, especially if ennis is out (they look even worse without him) we do play some pretty soft teams in the end, but I think these guys are deflated and want the season to be over just as much as we do
- bberkey1

They don't play a soft team after Arizona and Toronto. Canes and Jackets are both way better than their place in the standings. Injuries derailed both of those teams early.

I wish the Sabres had to start every game down 4 goals so I could root for Buffalo to play well and score some goals.

Good for RJ on making the road trip. Let us not forget we could have lost him this year.

I thought Paul Kariya left after just a year and a half. I think he can play right away if he's capable. Granted that was twenty years ago, but I don't think the rules have changed. I think if he wants to leave, he can.

Is he NHL ready? Who besides McEichel are ready for the jump? Strome? Mariner? Hanafin?

So if Eichel is drafted does him signing an entry level deal mean he has to play in the NHL? Or can he, theoretically, play in college another year as if it were another year of 'junior' hockey? Is there any chance he doesn't make the big club? Does he have a 9 game tryout, him being in the NCAA how would that work?

Yet people want to trade him away. He dosent get enough credit for what he has done. I hope he is here for when we are good.
- Cheeseballin

Murray Loves Ennis's Game.....He is one of our Vet leader in 2/3 years.

CORE: (Players that we will drive forward with and add to with Prospects) They can be traded but only for equal or greater talent.

Forwards: Evander Kane Tyler Ennis Zemgus Girgensens
(This Years Center) Matty Moulson Johan Larson
Marcus Foligno
Free Agent (I want LUCIC but will settle for Stewart or ROR) I'm interested in others that fall into the right age group and heavy style of play that may be available.

DEFENSIVE CORE: RISTO(put an A on him come Sept) BOGO

He can play in the AHL next year if they want him too, but thats not going to happen he will make it on an NHL team next year. He dosent have all the restrictions CHL players do.

Wild are about to knock the Blackhawks down into a wildcard spot. Chicago has a couple games in hand though.

It's amazing what a superstar/generational talent can do for a team, whether it's while hes playing or not playing, the effects of both playing and absence s can be felt interchangeably

Could be a nice thing to have in blue and gold

Soft as in beatable. They could beat Carolina maybe, but the Jackets aren't losing unless they start a scrub like Forsberg again. They are 9-1 in their last 10. Look at who they beat: Detroit, Vancouver, Calgary, Anaheim, Chicago, and St. Louis.

Eichel is absolutely nhl ready and unless the sabres absolutely load up at centre he will be here. I think people constantly banging the "gap" drum between him in McDavid almost make it seem like Eichel isn't a great prospect. The other three i think depends on who drafts them and what positions they are thin at.

I could see the Jets missing the playoffs. They have a brutal schedule down the stretch. That would suck for Myers and Stafford to miss out on the playoffs the last few games.

Devils advocate. The fact that he's one of only a few half decent forwards allows him the necessary playing time/O-zone time to put up those numbers. On a good team with players better than him he doesn't see those minutes which lead to the extra points. Of course he'd also be playing with better teammates.

Long story short part of me think his numbers will be about the same (maybe a little better) once this team is good. Which is not a dig at him, solid 2nd line forward with speed is a good thing to have.

- Sabresfan-365

Playing every game with a player like Reinhart and another really good winger like maybe Grigs will do way more than the couple of minutes he'll lose on the second line and 2nd PP. No way do his stats not improve when we're good.

I agree, they are very beatable, but they play a tight system game.

I've watched a bit of the AVES and I didn't see us coming into their building and beating them. They are not a good matchup for us, too talented and too fast, well coached.

Same can be said about the Jackets, I agree with you. I will worry about every game and watch every minute until this is over. I didn't think we could beat Boston with what is at stake or beat the Caps, taking 3of4 out of that was the low point for me, things have come back to earth, thank god.
