How ironic would it be if we win the lottery with the ball that the Islanders defer, after going balls deep for the playoffs, and we miss with our own after GMTM does everything in his power to "manage assets"??

The sabres could confidently say they have some balls then!

I would support taking a run at LUCIC and paying him 6mil per 4yrs, having him ride shotgun with Reinhart and having KANE on the top line would be well worth it!

I would like to ask "BuffaloHardHat" it he thinks TED NOLAN get the most out of TYLER MEYERS the past two seasons under his coaching?

So a team would make a power house team and teams like us would get (frank)ed that sounds like fun
- gerbe75pts

So after almost 30 years of free agency in all major sports how many times has this happened? The '94 Rangers (pre salary cap) and the Miami Heat are the only two examples I can think of where good players concentrated to one team. Maybe Suter and Parisi are close. But between a salary cap and guaranteed contracts it just doesn't happen now and wouldn't happen if the draft was eliminated. Plus, I would think having Pegula as an owner would be a bonus for Buffalo.

We have the cap room. I dont hate it. His career average is about .21 goals per game, that's about 18 per year. Just make sure you know what you are gonna get.

I've watched the COYOTES extremely closely the last two games, CENTER ICE for only $29.99 for the remainder of the season, picked it up about 2months ago, and I've watched lots of OILERS (nice team, need Defensemen Really Bad) and they don't play HEAVY at all, we seem to have some heavy with FACHING, KANE, BOGOSIAN, LARSON, FOLIGNO, RISTO, GERGS, they lack this in spades, this is what ARIZONA is strongest at, I believe TIPPETT's team is built correctly and will only need a couple of 3-4 D-Men but they are very good on the walls, and containment style. If you could combine the OIL and the YOTES, you'd have one hell of a team!

DOAN is seriously acting really strange the past two games. I've never seen a player of his stature with so many strange acts on the ice,

Buffalo (Thur) "Attempted Clearing of the Puke while shorthanded, he has no pressure near him, lots of time, but as his momentum pulls himself backward he tries to shoot the puck up Center Ice, obviously we all know Gionta grabbed it and sent it twine to tie it. After watching that play more closely, its weird that he wouldn't just slow up and make a safe clearing, again no pressure near him and he isn't some rookie without a good vision, he was in the clear and knew it.

Then while supposedly "screening" Hackett if you watch the highlights you can see him stand in from of Hackett and even Hackett pushes him with his glove, he looks at Hackett and seems to make a legitimate effort to not take away his vision, watch closely and see how DOAN looks at the goalie and then sets his location. YOTES of course scored on the shot non the less, but it was curious indeed. Then he simply skates with hands down showing no emotion for a team who's barely won 2 games in three months, the Captain, strolls over to the group.

Today against the PENS, very impressed with the YOTES ability to be heavy with teams and make them earn it, its so obvious to see a team of mediocre talent play a true "System" under Tippett and play it well! They score to take the lead half way through the 3rd in Pittsburgh, where they have no reason to be in the game, being outshot like 50-20, but MIKE SMITH was a BEAST! No doubt in my mind he is playing for real and so is the whole team with Tippett, but Doan was weird again today. In a 0-0 game the captain decides to take a shot at one of the Pittsburgh guys for barely a brush off on a YOTES winger coming in on the tender, little late push but no roughness to it at all, yet DOAN seemed to be looking for ANY opportunity to do something stupid which he did and took away the PP for the YOTES. (It wasn't like he was sticking up for a guy who just got rocked, literally the player was barely rubbed off the play.

Then as the play is already in the other end of the rink, HIS DEFENSIVE end, he takes a total deliberate CheapShot at Letang pushing him from an awkward position to land on his spine falling head first backwards into the boards. VERY SCARY if you watch the slomo replay, he honestly could have been paralyzed, it was like the DON BEEBE head bounce on the turf, "Ugly" so here you have LeTang who has worked his ass off after suffering a STROKE and being a true feel good story in the NHL and DOAN does that?!??!?! Its like he doesn't want to finish this season out because he is so torn inside about the longterm future of the Franchise.

I can honestly say that I think DOAN will be a LIFELONG member of this franchise with a job waiting for him. His Jersey will be hanging for them and he really seems to play with this contradiction within his head.

Well, we shall see what the CONDUCT committee deems appropriate for this pathetic, spineless, attempt to injure another player will sit him, I'm betting 4 Games.

I agree but there's no doubt in my mind that Rienhart would be able to do Pairoettes in the middle of the ice with him on his wing, the way SAMSON was banged around like a Rag-Doll for his few games up here, would be almost eliminated by SAMSON beefing up and having LUCIC on his wing.

I can assure you LUCIC will be able to tap in the amazing feeds Reinhart would put on his blade. I could see LUCIC with 25-35 goals. Then on the other wing make sure you have a solid skater who can play the entire rink (Pomminville type) and he nets you 15-20. Who do think would be a good winger on that line that we might have?

For our TOP LNE I don't like making predictions about who we might get this year but lets just put TYLER ENNIS there for now either on the WING if we get one, or at Center if we don't Then I put Evander Kane with ENNIS and whoever we get at #1 or We settle for ENNIS at Center with MOULSON/KANE as his wingers.

My third line would be my possession line, cycle group, wear out their D, etc Line.

This consists of GERGENSON/FOLIGNO/LARSON

4thLine would be PK/ KALETA, DELAURIER, GIONTA(he can move between all lines per injuries or when the coach needs to give the kids a rest or a lesson.

I've been a hopeful fan since we picked up Grigerenko but I have serious doubts whether he will ever make it in the NHL. Maybe the right coach, or a new surroundings, I'm sure he'll have a few chances from other clubs if we dump him. I wouldn't dump him for nothing, it doesn't hurt us to start him in Rochester and let him PROVE something in Rachacha, can he start there or did we lose our rights when Darcy wasted a year of eligibility? If that's the case and we can' start him in Rochester then we will bite the bullet and trade him for whatever we can, if we get McEchel, if we don't I would keep him unless he is a part of bringing in a LongTerm signed ROR. Other than that, if we don't get McEcel I say we keep him for another year.

Larsson could also center line 2 if we decide Rinehart needs some AHL seasoning, which is entirely possible if we want to avoid "Edminification."
Im sure we could sign/trade for/bring up someone to fill in that 3 line wing spot if need be. Shaller?

Grigos fate may be decided by if we win the lottery. He and McDavid may not play the "Heavy game" GMTM speaks of, but no one would complain about the skill. My gut feeling says he wont be here, but we have a ways to go before they reach that decision.

I totally agree, that our CENTERS don't ALL have to PLAY the HEAVY we already of ZEMGUS and LARSON , As I was saying, if we get one of two we definately move Gregerenko, if we don't we would be smart to hold off.

If you read the entire discussion, it was never a matter of contention that he be at Center, only whether we would trade him, when and why.

In my opinion we trade him if we get McEchel.

If we don't I believe we hold on to him another year.

Nothing to do with him playing center or wing.

Although I have heard that his corner expects him to always be placed at Center.

Pretty clear that Murray doesn't care about fair value as long as he gets who he wants.

Doesn't necessarily have to be for ROR, could be a 1 for 1 or part of a package for someone else.
