No, but if not it will be a huge overpayment. I think the Lightning get to the Cup this year, of course only if we fail... But I have faith, playoffs are a different animal.

Tampa has upset written all over them to me.

well, that kind of only happened because of the typical Martin St. Louis dead mother comment, which is very original
- jimbro83

And completely distasteful... and kind of gross. I'd expect that from a Flyers fan, but not a Pens fan...

I don't think Yandle was an overpayment even if we lose for the record.

Then why ask?

Did you write down that youre an idiot? Ive said it twice...oh wait, no, three times now. So it will be on the test.

Fill me in here.

The story I got is that at a Flyers home game against the Pens (not sure if it was this season) there was a little girl in Pens gear that was puked on intentionally by a Flyers fan just because he felt like it. A girl I work with who is a Flyers fan told me she saw it happen, but I didn't believe her and still don't think I do but it's just weird that I heard that a week ago and now Wrath said it haha.

Multiple choice, or fill in the blank? If the latter, will there be a word bank?

Really? Rags could have signed a better or comparable defenseman this offseason, or just picked up a guy who doesn't cost an arm, leg and hand at the deadline. Your best prospect, a first, a second and a rounder player is a little extreme..

I can't believe how little the Rangers traded for Yandle. I thought he would command far more. Hell, I think the Lightning paid more for that underwhelming guy from Philly whose name I can't remember.

I don't know who is left in Marty St. Louis family that will die that will motivate him to go on a roll again, let me answer this question if it's on the test.

It's a fact the Rangers have 3 rookies in their lineup this year. No objectivity there.

It's a fact that you guys were forced to play Sill in your lineup because you had no other options while we have Lindberg in the AHL a who was one of the most asked about prospects at the deadline.

Those prospect rankings are based more on having elite talent in the pool, which the Rangers don't really have. But the Rangers do have a lot of depth talent in our system and continue to spit out quality NHL players year over year despite low rankings.

- rangerdanger94

Finding quality depth players is not that challenging. Finding high end players is very rare. All that "year over year" talent has led to one SC finals in 20 years. It's not like the NYR are in the same league as LAK, Chicago, or even Boston.

I don't think there is a comparable player to Yandle on the market. He's not exactly Subban, Letang, or Karlsson when it comes to offensive defensemen, but he's the next best thing.

As in winning the Cup or no? For some reason I still feel like they are the underdogs even though they are loaded.

Could have given us an arm and a leg for Martin had everyone and their mother not gotten hurt for us... or Maatta, specifically Maatta.

That's true, but still. Wiz was the next best thing to Yandle and was traded for pennies.

you can't talk about the Yandle trade without considering that the Coyotes took on half his cap hit this year and next. It's absolute gold.

This blog wouldn't exist if the Penguins had enough depth to overcome their injury issues.
- rangerdanger94

But they have overcome their injuries. They're in a playoff position. That's not with this article is about. Its about comparing man games lost to cup winners.

Reading comprehension...it's everything.

Well that is high-end talent that is usually required to win and why the Rangers aren't considered to have a strong prospect pool. Penguins have that, but not the depth due to poor personnel management.

Clearly it is challenging since your team has struggled with it for years. As have other teams like the Oilers.

The Rangers did draft high end players in 2013 though. Two of them actually, and both in the 3rd round. We also have the best goalie in the league, he was a 7th round pick.

One SC final in 20 years but we've been more successful than you guys have the last 5 years and have played more playoff games than any team in the league in recent history outside the Kings.
