The broken ankle game was in 1964, the game 6 winner. Leafs won game 7 to take the cup over the Wings.
1967 had the Leafs beating the Habs in 6. Baun barely played due to a broken foot or toe. - ArlingtonRob
I reread the Wiki and I took the wrong year...'67 he didn't play much like u said...It was '64. Broke his ankle and then came back in OT and scored the game winner. |

Bruins can still get wild card...they are tied with the Sens and have 8 games left. Not done yet. |

I was watching the game and my comment was mostly about what happened.
Tied the score with 38 seconds to go and won on a long shot in OT.
Bruins aren't done but injuries and they don't seem right at all. |

Probably not and no. Or we can hope they have to waive Carcillo to make room.
Its what all the kids call a win-win. - Elbows15
There is no cap issue after the trade deadline - so they can play regardless of the cap. |

Uh.. That is what I said. The waiving Carcillo part was wishful thinking. Though he won't matter for a bit as he is out with hurt feelings ffrom getting his ass kicked once again |

The sad part about Carcillo is every intelligent Hawks fan didn't want him signed in the first place - but Q loves him. And we all know who wins out in that scenario (Handzus, Roszival, etc...) |

I expect us all to be surprised by the roster next fall...lot's of turnover, many new faces.
Hopefully still a playoff team. |

This one you are right. I am shocked. Does not mean they will get a minute of time though. They probably jumped at the chance to be able to skate with Rosival.
- TrueGrit
Well sure cause that never happens...Drew LeBlanc, Matt Carey both played a game or two same season they signed IIRC.
Can't remember if TVR signed before the regular season was over, but he was getting about 16 mins a game before the injury this season.
If Palliotta shows enough, he'll likely be playing in place of Rozy next season along with Johns or another farmhand. Rozy won't be back. |

From the Herald this morning on Paliotta:
Debuting in the NHL this season was one of the factors that prompted Paliotta to sign with the Hawks, according to agent Jordan Neumann of Edge Sports Management.
The biggest reason was a talk he had with Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman.
Paliotta was convinced not to take the same route as Kevin Hayes, the Hawks' top pick in 2010. Hayes played four seasons at Boston College and because he hadn't signed with the Hawks yet, he had the right to become a free agent. He used that option to sign with the New York Rangers. Paliotta looked into that maneuver, but felt the Blackhawks were his best choice.
"I think more than anything his decision was based on his belief this was the best organizational fit," Neumann said. "He had a lot of faith in the organization. They were the team that drafted him, so they were the only team that spent time with him the last four years and they did a good job at every step of his development."
Last season Bowman signed forward Matt Carey and defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk as college free agents. Forward Drew Leblanc was signed as a college free agent in 2013.

Yeah but if the Hawks had signed K. Hayes and Brad Richards Hayes would be in the minors and Richards would be the top center on the Hawks, I know this cause the all seeing, all knowing Oracle told me. |

He may have been right about that one. I'm sure Hayes never would have gotten a shot with Q as coach. It's a proven fact that young players never get a chance to play other than Saad, Kruger, TT, TVR, Shaw, Nordstrom or Rundblad. None of those guys were ever given a fair shake under Q. |

So the Peg/Kings/Preds all won last night...
The Hawks sure could use a W at home this evening against the Jackets.
Hoping there's a little more effort in their game this evening against a non playoff team that's won 8 out of 10.

Rundblad had to of been forced down Q's throat by the FO. Game 1 told most of us that Rundblad was very RundBAD |

Quenneville has autonomy to run his team the way he sees fit and while the FO can suggest things, it is Q's team. If he plays Rundblad or doesn't play Pirri or whatever, it's because there is something in their game he likes or doesn't like. |
