I don't know. My understanding is that all of the teams have to be in Canada from now on. They really didn't do a good job with the Conferences, the division names, and I still don't think 'wild card' should be a hockey term.

I don't think with the currency discrepancies they will consider that. I'd much rather have Quebec get another team than a warm climate. But again, the NHL has a terrible history of making expansion decisions, laughably bad actually, so I think we as fans shouldn't expect that to change anytime soon.

I can Seattle maybe getting a team. But I see it through relocation (Arizona) as opposed to expansion.

Pretty sure arizona has an out in the next year or two. Starting this year they signed an agreement with the building that if they exceeded 50 million in losses in the next 5 years they can basically walk. They are already at 35 for this year.

If Az wins the McD sweepstakes, I predict they'll relocate to Canada within 2 years. No way they have that dude play there.

They should have Arizona draft first overall and then turn around to do a contraction draft of Arizona. Doan got to the Peg automatically.

Cole did have a nice assist on the Goc goal though.

Goc sucks. Only reason he scored is because MAF got barreled over. I'm surprised Goc got the puck off the ice

Would be awesome if he pulled an Eli Manning or John Elway. "Trade me or I'll play in the KHL."

Goc should center Oshie and Backes. Bortz is top 2 in STL, should pair nicely with Shattenpants next year. Should expect 30-35 goals from Goc with a full year in STL. Bortz has a cannon shot. Should see #1 PP time.

Lindros did it.

Turned out to be the best thing to ever happen to the Avalanche. haha.

Good fun game to watch last night. Not missing Lappy, but Cole..... Yeah. I miss Cole in blues jersey.

It seems there are pens fans who miss Goc, and some who don't. Me I view it as a lateral move really. It was a low risk-medium reward trade that ended up being not much of a difference so far.

I don't miss Bortz though, Cole was a big upgrade over him.

Pens got Lap for the playoffs. He's more noticeable in playoff games. If he fails to show then, I'll place him on my shart list. Withholding judgment until then. I've already seen what Goc can (or should I say cant) do in the playoffs.

Agreed. If it doesn't work like GMJR thought, then it's basically a wash a Goc would provide nothing anyway. Either way Goc/Lap more than likely wouldn't/won't be on our roster next year anyway, unless Lap shows up huge in the playoffs.

The only way I'm getting mad at any of the players is if they don't give 100% in the playoffs. Perhaps an older player like Kunitz is conserving a little. I know one thing, when they all give 100% they are a very hard team to beat. There hasn't been many games with a full every player giving 100% for 60 minutes effort this season.

Weird things sometimes happen in the playoffs. Pens PP was 1st in the regular season, or most of last season anyway, and went dead in the playoffs. Their PK was 1st most of the season last season and crapped the bed in the playoffs.

Pretty sure he has to be signed this year. Which requires roster and cap space that the Penguins don't have.

Yeah he was 5'8 it has him listed as, I think we should at least get one of these guys coming from the KHL.. Especially the younger guys so we can have more in the system due to no picks. Moses is 25 as well, doesn't really need developing skill wise, just some time getting used to the NHL style.

Money talks obviously. Not sure the Penguins will want to gamble...especially at this moment. We know they'd like to get deeper but a guy with his history(even in the KHL) might command more than we can offer. I'd bet on JK getting him like that bit says.

Also, not to compare abilities, but the size applies. Arcobello is about that size and was at $600K. Still don't get why we waived him instead of Adams.

Agreed, even though we will have some room for a gamble like this, especially if Scuds is gone.

Adams wasn't waived because the Penguins PR people had that really cool Craig Adams Iron-Man photoshop that they've been saving.

Here's a few of his goals (older)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chMtlXreUc4

But he's got a nice one timer, great speed and some good hands around the net. He used to be JVRs linemate and JVR said that he's fast, built great and won't get tossed around here.

I do think this sort of signing might be sooner rather than later. It seems like teams are trying to add their unsigned draftees, college and KHL players preemptively. Not a bad move considering a lot of the contenders they won't surpass are strapped cap wise.

On the Adams Iron Man stuff

Yeah same, these types of guys are getting snatched up. That Bailey guy TOR signed last week is already practicing with the team and has a locker. This kind of move would have to be done in the offseason though, maybe if Hoff goes on IR we can sign him? Maybe sign him in the playoffs with no cap (or intention of playing him probably)? Not sure how the last two would work.

This is the crowning moment of his career.

Lap is completely worthless in the playoffs, had Blues fans clamoring for getting Porter & Cracknell, AHL guys, onto the line instead.

I'd rather have Goc. No difference in offensive production, but I've seen more mistakes from Lapierre relative to what Goc had to justify the trade at this point.
