Here's a thought to ponder- will the winner of the Art Ross trophy in 2015 have more points than Gretzky's goal total of 92 in 1981–82?? |

Sid would need to average 1.8 ppg. I hope so, he'd be hot heading into playoffs |

I heard a quote from Lou Lam over the weekend. Talking about the GM's have been discussing getting more offense into the game.
Wish I could find the exact quote, but he was saying how he doesn't see the need. He thinks the NHL is great right now.
Old bastard needs to go away. He's one of the biggest reasons the NHL product is like watching paint dry these days. I haven't seen so many "bear hugs" in the game since before the lockout. - madmike71
Could not agree with you more The fhead caused this league to suffer and he is admired by people. That further proves what I have been saying for years now.PEOPLE ARE STUPID |

I don't think the NHL is entering some sort of dark age. Only one player, 87, cracked 100 points last season and I didn't see any of this reactionary stuff from the media. What about the prior non-lockout year? One 100 point scorer as well (71).
2010-11? one 100+ point player. Daniel Sedin.
2009-10 had 4 100+ point scorers, and 3 in the 90s. That was so long ago that Brad Richards was one of them with 91 points for Dallas.
Where were those torches and pitchforks then?
It's just simply the case that the value of an NHL goal is very high. The latest lockout didn't yield the goal celebration of ticky tacky calls the way the 2005 one did. I think the game is far superior than it was ten seasons ago; if anything I want the referees less involved in the game and probably shouldn't even be on the ice at this point. |

I know most Islander fans are not a fan of him. - powerhouse
With good reason. When Thomas Hickey leads all players in ice time and your seventh defenseman(Brian Strait) is getting over 22 minutes a night it makes it tough to like him. |

Man, sid is on the decline. Better trade him now while his value is still somewhat high |
