damn it I was gonna reply to the guy with a comment about Giordano. could probably add Martin St.Louis and Dan Boyle to the list.

The same people who say these guys won't pan out, are the ones that are shocked when a 6th rounder turns into a better player than their 1st rd pick

He's 17. He has the tools but it'll come down to development. Same with most kids.

Ryan Strome is comparable player. He's 21 and really good but it takes time. Draft him, park him in jr. for at least one more year …ahl for another year ….the give him a sniff when he's ready.

the thing is a guy like strome would have to be in juniors for 2 more years.
If Nylander had been drafted outta the CHL, he woulda had to play juniors this year AND next year. 17 pts in 24 AHL games, 20 in 21 SweHL games. Nylander probably woulda won the CHL scoring race.

That is false. Being drafted by an ohl team (he was drafted by an ohl team - Mississauga) doesn't mean he has to play for them.

Both Strome and Marner will have to do 2 more years of Jr before being eligible for AHL... Unfortunately. Increases liklihood they will be rushed.

I was hoping we could pass the Yotes instead of the Oilers for 3rd. Oilers may have picked Noah Hanifin with the 2nd.

i think what he was referring to is that had Nylander been PLAYING in the CHL when drafted, he would not have been eligible for the AHL.
