Guys like Hayes and Schultz were high draft picks that refused to sign a contract allowing them to become UFA by 21/22 yrs old. Top prospects that wanted to go elsewhere.

He's 17. He has the tools but it'll come down to development. Same with most kids.

Ryan Strome is comparable player. He's 21 and really good but it takes time. Draft him, park him in jr. for at least one more year …ahl for another year ….the give him a sniff when he's ready.
