They're some what lucky then, they could have been in the Tornado's path. You generally want to track them from the southeast so you don't have to go through all the rain,hail etc... cool experience i bet, hopefully no damage to the vehicle?

We had one come realllllly close in Dryden when I was too young to remember. I've got the pictures and it did some serious damage. Grandparents lived on lake Wabigoon and the thing ripped through, flipped over all the boats (Including a 15'x15' dock style pontoon boat) and ripped some of the stilts the cottage was on up a few feet.

No, they were fine - it wasn't too close to them.

It did freak my wife out, though, and the traffic on the highway came to a stop, so she pulled off and went to the Chuck E. Cheez and hung out there for about two hours.

So if you asked my daughter, who was four at the time, it was a great experience.
