his knees were in worse shape than a 67 year old toothless vietnamese hooker - Dozzer
Managed 28 goals that season we traded him to the Rangers.
Pretty sure his spike in production coincided with him getting cyborg knees. |

Pretty sure Europe started looking elsewhere after the stunt Putin pulled in 2009 - Feeling Glucky?
Russia had an agreement of price with Ukraine for over 30 years and the U Nationalist party (Svoboda) decided they wanted a sweeter deal, so Russia said (frank) you we will built pipelines that bypass you you so we can work with the other european countries and pybass distribution deals with Ukraine. If they really wanted to screw over europe they could just shut off the valve in the fall, people would freeze to death in winter... |

just another in a long line of miscast forwards for the leafs - Dozzer
i remember when they had the line with Sundin and Ponikarovsky and Antropov. they were a load when they'd got a hold of the puck in the off zone. but (frank) were the ever slow. |

kovalchuk comes back whose he signing with.. - wingz4life
I don't think he's coming back. He may want to, but won't be allowed based on all 30 teams needing to approve his return.
Imagine the precedent that this would set if players can just jump ship and then be allowed to return as it suits them.
Why would teams who have 0 chance of acquiring Kovalchuk allow him to return to significantly improve another team, or worse yet, a division rival? |

Sundin Roberts Mogilny was a good line... |
|
|
|
Why would they not? - BINGO!
Firstly, as mentioned, it sets a bad precedent; Secondly, why would the owners want to encourage the ridiculous bidding war which will inevitably ensue with Kovalchuk's?; Lastly, why would the owners essentially reward IK with another fat contract that he could just piss on once again and make then look like a bunch of idiots?
Allowing Kovalchuk to return does more harm to the league than any potential good. |

On the yea side, it allows the NHL to screw the KHL.
On the nay side, the NHL probably doesn't need to do anything to screw the KHL - it's about to implode. |

I think the KHL could benefit from a contraction. Greater concentration of talent, easier to create a viable farm system, perhaps greater interest in participation outside of Russia in the long term. I wouldn't necessarily write them off. |
