I think Strome is good enough that after another year in junior he could make the Leafs as a 19 year old. He's got the size and skill to pull it off. Would it hurt his development? Maybe a bit, some time in the ahl wouldn't hurt; however, I think he is a high quality prospect that could pull it off and be alright.

Nylander and Brown should also be ready to make the jump by then. Could be a nice injection of quality youth..

99.9% of the time, when something happens in the NHL, I can question what the heck is going on, but I know deep down that the coach or GM of the team is the coach or GM of an NHL team, and I'm a guy swilling over-priced beer in my seat, so they probably know something I don't.

Christian Hanson was a rare exception.

For the brief time he was a Leaf, I'd watch that guy and wonder what the hell the Leafs were thinking. He clearly wasn't good enough to play in the NHL, yet he played 31 games one year.

For the record, Carter Ashton was another exception.

like when every Leafs fan wanted to draft anybody other than Biggs, and they wound up trading the picks that could have netted the guys many Leafs fans wanted to get the pick that became Biggs, and those other guys are players now and Biggs is poop.

I think they are probably smarter than I give them credit for.

On the other hand, my opinions on what the Leafs should do have been proven correct more often than not and I am pretty sure a lot of other leafs fans can say the same.

The thing is, it isn't that we are geniuses, it is that Leafs management has been that bad for all these years. (and motivated solely by the fools gold chance at a couple playoff dates vs, the future)

MacWilliam and Frattin were draft picks. Yes they were signed out of the NCAA, but they were ours to lose.
