not at all...totally off base
- Michael Pachla

Maybe you are correct but it is something that Nolan has had to work on before .You would think that his years in Junior would correct this. From watching Zadorov play lately I wouldn't be surprised if what i said is fairly accurate

I think you see what you did, and why your slip is showing.

should've been a little more specific. I'm not trying to make this a CHL vs NCAA debate, i'm strictly referring to the age thing.

How so? I'm not discrediting the ncaa or any of the european leagues i'm just pointing out that the reasoning behind drafting a guy just because he dominated against "men" is overrated. I want Eichel because he's incredibly talented not because he deked out some 23 year old player who i've never heard of from school i've never heard of.

Edit: the CHL bit was just a reference to McDavid as he happens to be playing there.

- Sabresfan-365

Agreed. I thought the narrative was over rated from the get go. I think both will be fantastic but IMO McDavid and to an extent Eichel will be great players the moment they put on the NHL jersey

I know you expressly said 'in your opinion', but advanced stats do not support that statement. Sabres are worse and it's not even close.
- Pierceme69

I don't pay any attention to Corsi or advanced stats, you look at the Yotes roster and the Sabres roster and it shows what team is worse. Nolan will not let them give up that's what makes the Sabres look better. The Yotes are a worse team

I've watched every one of their games since the deadline and the Yotes don't give up either. They play way better than the Sabres, in fact. They aren't getting outshot by 20 shots every game. They just don't score. But neither does Buffalo for the most part. The games will be pretty close I think. All we need is to split.

I only get to see their highlights. I hope you're right about the not giving up part - the highlights make them look like intentional quitters.

They don't have much offensive skill right now, but they play hard. Sounds familiar?

Or Sabres 29th, win lottery, get McDavid.
- grand-magus

Or Sabres 29th & either the oilers or leafs win it
That would be the worst
F-ing hate the Leafs right now bc they signed Casey Bailey from Penn state. I thought we were gonna get him for sure. Supposedly (Harrington tweet) we didn't want him to play in the NHL this year. That's weird though bc I remember Murray saying we could offer O'Connor the opportunity to play this year.
If the Leafs get McDavid too I'll be so pissed

Good to hear. I've only seen one of their games lately.
If we can split with them I think we'll be ok.
Watching Edmonton beat Philly last night was great. Half the bar cheered when the Oilers pulled it off, hahaha

Today's game is huge. If they can win today against the Nucks '3rd string' goalie, then we could have a 5 point lead if we lose tomorrow. At that point even if we beat the Yotes twice we could still finish behind them.

McDavid is playing against boys. Eichel is do great against bigger bodies.
- sippyd

True, but don't downplay what McDavid is doing.
His numbers are Crosby-like, and they're roughly 30% better than the numbers that Tavares, Hall & Stamkos put up. That's really impressive.

Anyone watch the Boston U game last night?
DVRd the game, but haven't watched yet. I did see the sweet goal by Eichel though

He needs to add on 30 lbs.

He is 3 yrs away from adding anything to this lineup if at all.

You take Strome and not look back.

Ya, but I'm not counting on the Yotes winning tonight. Vancouver is a pretty good team, and Markstrom has been great all year in the AHL.
It'll take a great game by Smith for them to even be in it. Fortunately, he has remebered how to stop the puck lately.
I'd be thrilled if they could even get it to ot

I don't wanna start this argument again, but if we pick 3rd I feel pretty confidant that Murray will take Hanifin.

I'm pretty confidant that if they pick 3rd the pick will be moved, we pick no later than 6th and take Strome.
