He made his bed, let him lie in it. We have enough world class talent on this continent alone. Don't need Russia's help. Besides the KHL is infamous for their shady tactics to procure talent.

Yea, 816 pts in 816 games. Where on "This continent" can we get that help?

The KHL that has a salary cap of 17MM next season? They may have no choice.

Meh.. I'm biased towards Ruskies. Too many examples of playing soft and whining on a regular basis.

I don't see it that way. AZ might not get another point all year and it wouldn't surprise me if we took 4 pts in the other games. We need AZ to win one of the games in regulation and at least get to OT in the other game.
- Slump Buster

You're suggesting Arizona will lose 15 straight to end the season and I think there is little chance that happens.

They should be forced to take a year and work on a job laying concrete. Show them what being a MAN is all about.

Drafting 3rd we will get a good player. The bad thing is It's gonna suck watching us be a bottom 3 team again next year and not hope we have a mcheichel prize at the end of the tunnel. Whoever we draft at 3 isn't going to be on the team next year. with Reinhart possibly in the roc again we will have kane but the team won't be drastically different. poor free agent class too. Maybe a trade here or there but no point in selling the farm when most of our core isn't ready yet. it's one of the reasons why mceichel is so important, we can start to build to a contender as early as next season. Without them it's just another year towards the rebuild
- Fattony1187

Ya, I get what you're saying
Even with McDavid, I don't think we're gonna be as good next year as a lot of ppl on here think... But getting a top2 pick does pretty much end the "rebuild" and start our climb up the standings.
We'll still have some important moves to make, like another top forward & franchise goalie... But those are moves that can be made along the way

This season has proven that you don't need a $6 million a year goalie to be good. I wouldn't even try to get a big name goalie.

If they were to award NJ the contract back, do they void years, or do they count against the cap, and also count towards recapture? So many questions!

He's what 31 now. Cant see him taking any less than 5 years.

- ImThatGuy

U may be right, but anything after 35 with him scares me
I think the fair thing to do would be to re-instate his contract...
BUT if it's been voided, idk if that would be legal?
It's definitely a strange scenario

They will experience a new found appreciation for hard workers like Ted Nolan and they will want to punch out beady-eyed douches who have never proven anything like TM.

Who said anything about a $6mil goalie?

Bernier, Vasilevskiy, Gibson, Allen....

3-4 years max is about right. He can produce that's for sure. Imagine a line with McEichel centering Kane and him...that's dare I say it a true 1st scoring line in the NHL something the Sabres haven't really had in a long time.
- Stripes77

That could be a VERY nice line for sure

You don't need a perceived 'good' goalie. They are pretty plug and play on this team. That would be the last thing I'd worry about.

Nolan said Ennis showed up sick and they sent him back to the hotel. He hopes he can play. D'Amigo is getting a MRI on his face and is out.

I think you're way off base
How many Cup winners have a "plug n play" goalie?
Heck, most good teams have a very good goalie.
Quick has won 2 cups with LA
Look at the best teams this year... Price, Lundqvist, Rinne...
Nashville is actually a great example of just how important a good goalie can be.
Especially for a young team like ours.
All these guys are gonna still be inconsistent & make mistakes. Having a strong goalie back there can help a lot.
I'd be shocked if we go into next year with another Neuvirth/Enroth situation

wow. 80 points a year? You do know that is what the top 3 scorers in the NHL get a year. Ya I don't think he's gonna be that. He's not even that in juniors

You never mentioned in all the leagues he wasn't a top 3 scorer.

Look at the world juniors he was tied for the leading scorer and carried Canada

Also look at 2013-2014 season...He was 4th in the league in scoring playing in 12 less games...on a crappy team that he carried but whatever you wanna say cause ppg he lead the league (he missed time because he was playing for team Canada)

- Stripes77

carried except for domi, duclair, petan, mcdavid, lazar, nurse, Theodore, morrisey and bowey?
and good goaltending.

reinhart was great in the wjc's no doubt. and this isnt an argument that he wont be a good nhl'er, but he absolutely did not carry Canada. two different things completely.

that was a great team top to bottom,( maybe the best since that 05 juggernaut even) and you're letting homer take over if you think he carried that team in any way
