ive been reading this a lot.
not saying youre wrong, but what has grigs done to earn a bigger look?
just his talent and pedigree alone u think deserves it?

as I said, im not disagreeing per se as lots of fans seem to think punishing young players for lack of effort or weak areas of their game only hurts them going forward. but im just curious as to your thoughts.

for example, regardless if hes more talented, you don't think he deserved near the ice time that say Larsson did do you?

imo, the tough love Eakins showed yakupov has made him stronger defensively and more responsible forward (he was an absolute nightmare) which will make him a better nhl'er moving ahead

- Ihateallofu

Grigerenko doesn't get a 6:00 min period, or God Forbid an 18:00 minute night, even if JUST TO FAIL! This deciding on failure from one shift is PATHETIC!

At this point with what Nolan is doing with Grigs I question if Nolan is just trying to screw Murray. He knows Murray has a hard-on for ROR and is probably going to assemble a package for him this off season, (Hopefully not his he-he) and Grigs most likely will be part of that package. So is Nolan purposely destroying Grigs value or the potential for his value to rise?
- sskkoo1

I think you're reading into it too much
Nolan just hates guys like Grigorenko & Hodgson
Both players woul be more productive under a different coach

I think we're seeing that Schultz needs to be sheltered abit.
he possesses some pretty special offensive instincts, but he just isn't physical at all and doesn't have near the defensive iq to cover up for his defensive weaknesses.
klefboms emergence and them being paired together has certainly helped in covering up his errors tho. so we'll see how they look going forward.
another quality pairing (like nurse and hanifin!!) to take some minutes off klefbom and Schultz could actually make me far less concerned about Schultz moving forward.

as far as nurse, I dunno. hes absolutely been among the most talented players in camp in both appearances, but he needs to learn to make the simple play sometimes. hes always looking to make hero play.
he'll get his opportunity in october, but I think mact is going to be very cautious throwing him to the wolves. nurse turning out is so huge for our franchise. so abit of time in the ahl wouldn't surprise me at all.

and yaks is turning it around for sure. a lot of it is owed to roy. hes been great for the kid.
even if yaks doesn't become the goal scoring machine we hoped, the physical element to his game is great. id be very happy if he becomes a 25g-60pt physical pest. and I think that's very plausible

- Ihateallofu

Makes sense
And u guys should re-sign Roy as well
Gives u 2 lines that can score, & that can allow Draisaitl to be eased in a bit as a 3c until he's ready for the top6
Yak should def not get traded. He's super talented & will be a good player for u guys.

The scoring, or lack there of, is not why I'm worried
- TheSabresTaco

Well it's not like his lack of compete is anywhere near as bad as Nolan or others are complaining about, so I guess that leaves nothing to worry about

I've been reading back a page and I almost never do that, so am I to believe that after all the years with Darcy and his bulls$$t, after all the losing seasons and all the suffering this year and last year and people think that Hanifin a D man should be the pick if we lose out on the 1st or 2nd pick ? are you kidding me ? what a complete waste of apick after everything this franchise has been through, all the waiting and people want Hanifin ?

We'll you don't pick a forward just because, you take the best player, EVERY time, regardless of position
And we all want McDavid or Eichel... A LOT

If they lose out on McDavid or Eichel, every pick is a "waste" of a pick, in the sense of the word you are talking about.

Well that was a solid game to go to, rather enjoyable. Found it easier to outright cheer for NJ than I thought. Big Bear came through for us.

Good point

Although with how god our defense would be with Hanifin added, our top3 centers being Reinhart, Girgensons & Larsson doesn't look so bad

I do not want a dman. We have enough. We need some players who can put the puck in the Goddamn net with some regularity. I for one do not want to become the new version of the Preds.

Unfortunately, unless one or more of those guys exceed expectations, it's not good enough to make you a championship team.

It doesn't exactly scream out "Championship", either.

If those are our top 3 centers we got more problems then I thought. That isn't even close to good.

I don't get it either. By all accounts he put in the work in the off-season. He has put up great numbers in Rochester. They call him up and he gets 4th line minutes. Then the coach dogs him after the game AGAIN.

After the last two winters here I'm looking for the furthest thing from Buffalo. I've got a possible lead on a job out there. Hoping to get an in-person interview in the next few weeks.

I appreciate the thought even. I really like the desert. I'm not a person who cares a lot about having seasons. 5 months of winter and then humid summers bum me out.
