Oh, my bad. Looked like he did the "OOOOooooo" and the ref gave him a, "Well, you just earned yourself a game buddy." But sorry if I got that wrong. - jmatchett383
I don't think it went that way, if it did, thats just really being on tilt. But I think he said something right before that video, they ref tosses him, and then we see the video starting.

Ah, okay. Still, one of your "leaders" shouldn't be acting that way. I know it's just one example, but I think there's a bit of, maybe "entitlement" with some of the players on the Penguins (Letang and Malkin, and Neal before he was traded). If these guys just shut their yaps, play their skilled style of game, and keep their emotions in check, they're as much of a contender as anyone. But if they keep playing this "woe is me" poop and get upset, they'll self-destruct time and time again.
As a Flyers fan, I have no problem admitting that the Penguins should be able to light the Flyers up to the tune of 6-7 goals per game, but they keep feeling like they're the victim and need to outbully the bullies before the puck has even dropped, and they end up beating themselves. It's absolutely ridiculous.
Downie didn't get 10 for "skating into a scrum." He got it for running a linesman into the ice. He's lucky he only got 10 for that. Also, Kunitz didn't get his for "shooting the puck down ice after a period." He got it for shooting it towards an official after stepping out of the box after the period was over.
Edit: And CLEARLY, Downie only gets calls based on his reputation and jersey. Like he'd ever throw a cheap shot, come on, that's ridiculous. He's a Lady Byng-type player.

Nobody said he was clean but he was reaching out to grab Pulkkinen and the linesman stepped in. You make it sound like that was his target. Yea Kuntz was shooting the puck at the ref.

Now hold up... lets not have a self control conversation coming from a Flyers fan

OK because clearly the Flyers are playoff bound because they know how to handle themselves.

He "reached in?" He skated at full speed into the pile and dropped the linesman. Probably not his target, but he came barreling into a pile at (his) top speed.

Where in the last 5 months have I ever even mentioned the Flyers being a good and/or controlled team? Are you saying the Flyers are the standard you're using when analyzing the Penguins?

Hey, the Flyers of the 70s/80s/90s are the standard of what not to do if you want to win, at least in today's game. If you go around trying to show how tough you are or lose your cool constantly, you're going nowhere fast. Do you realize that the Penguins are actually a sub-.500 team in 2015 to date (at least as of 2 weeks ago)? Sure, injuries have played a part in that, but they have enough skill that they should be trouncing most of the competition every night.
Edit: They've won exactly 50% of their games this calendar year.

Watch the entire thing. The linesman comes in from behind as Downie is already focused on engaging. Please stop already. Paste 3 seconds of an incident. He was on the way to the bench when it happened.

Yes, agreed. He's a choir boy and the big bad refs were being mean to him. They're always picking on him.
God, you're being almost as bad with a Maple Leafs fan with your whining about how the refs always have it out for you guys. News flash: ALL TEAMS HAVE PENALTIES CALLED AGAINST THEM THAT THE FAN BASE DOESN'T LIKE. DEAL WITH IT.
Edit: I did watch it. He 1) tries to push the official aside and 2) pushes him over with 2 hands. Tell me, why the hell was he coming from 20 feet away in the first place when the scrum is dying down? At 1:07, the official tries to stop him from getting in, and he pushes the official down.

Exactly what I said and you can head over to your boards anytime you want to we will understand.

You said, he put his hands of the official and pushes him away and down? I thought you said he reached out for another player and they just gave him a "reputation call" for being Steve Downie? Where did you say he pushed the official away and down to enter a scrum that he wasn't involved in?

I'm not saying that Downie doesn't get reputation calls (for which he has no one to blame but himself) but defending him for intentionally pushing an official, no matter what his other intentions were, is baffling to me. Carcillo, a similar player, got a multi-game suspension for similar (yet more egregious) actions in the Stanley Cup Finals last year (maybe it was the ECF, not sure). I actually thought he was lucky he didn't get a full game for it.

end result, he knocked down the official trying to get involved in an altercation. I'm not sure why it's hard to understand he got a penalty for that.
Oh come on... everyone is better than Edmonton - Guile
Well, this is true. The teams below them in the standings are better at tanking that Edmonton is, and everyone else is just better. That team needs to be completely torn apart from the GM to the 3rd string goalie.

I'm sorry, but comments like this make you look ignorant. Add to the conversation, don't attack a fan based on their team preference, especially when it has nothing to do with the original comment.
