I would hope so, the kid is already a monster along the wall, once he learns to play in the NHL, he's going to be someone nobody wants to go against.

Him and Resto were great picks, sets up the def real nice in future years.

I said that immediately when we chose him. I absolutely LOVED the pic. I'd say about 90% on here were pissed we didn't take a forward

I'd be happy with any of the 4 guys I mentioned
I know for a FACT Enroth will return if offered a contract

Garth just posted 25, 51 and a 1st for ROR
- SABRES 89

I wouldn't trade Zadorov straight up for ROR, let alone Grigorenko & a 1st
I really hope the Leafs (or anyone but the Sabres) trades for him instead
He going to go to UFA status, I'm pretty sure of it

That's more like it.
I'm so nervous he'll walk though. Wish he was under contract for at least 2 more years like Kane and Bogosian. Although if he was, he prob wouldn't be available.
I do like him a lot as a player though, and think he'd fit in nicely with the rebuild. If we do get him, I just hope we won't have to sign him to a horrible deal to keep him.
And I don't want us to trade too much to get him either

I don't think that will be enough IMO, we might have to add another piece

That's too much then IMO
I hope someone else is willing to top what Murray will give, and we can just go after him as a UFA
I'm assuming that Bogosian & Ristolainen are off the table. And since u said Zadorov likely is as well, I'm not sure we're good trading partners anyways. Someone will likely offer a better defenseman to them than Pysyk or McCabe I'd think.
Arizona still has a lot of defense they can offer. So do the Rangers & Nashville.
Toronto supposedly has been very interested.
I'd imagine their won't be a shortage of teams that call to at least kick the tires

I'd bet we could find a taker, but I doubt we'd get a decent return.
I know u hate him, but it just isn't good business to dump an asset for (likely) well below his previous value unless there's an immediate need to.
Plus, Murray had made comments that lead me to believe he doesn't approve of the way Nolan uses him.
It would make sense to keep him next year to see if he can start scoring again & raise his value. Then he can be moved & we can get something worthwhile back.
Maybe that's wishful thinking,
But I think Hodgson can get back to a 20goal pace playing with better talent. And we will likely add 3 good offensive talents to the lineup next year.

If they were to talk about ROR it would be tampering.
I doubt Murray would risk that

Ristolainen is the only untouchable on that blue line IMO. If he doesn't turn out we will be looking for a top pairing D man

Agree...but i believe the whole hoopla with calgary got people thinking he was money hungry.....i think they may have tipped a few car bombs and said what would it really take.

Zadorov either had to go back to Juniors or play here.
Rumor is that he said he'd go play in the KHL if we sent him back to juniors, so we kept him here.
IMO, they both have held their own this year on a horrible team.
They'll continue to improve as they get more experience, and we continue to bring in talent around them.
It's optimal to bring guys along slowly in most cases, but it's not always necessary.
Next year Zadorov can be sent to AHL if Murray wants to, but I doubt it happens.

Why do u say that?
Murray has liked Bogosian for years (his words) and was finally able to trade for him. Wouldn't make much sense for him to turn around and deal a player he's coveted for years now. He also can also be a "top pair" guy.
Maybe we have different definitions of what that means though.
For me, it has nothing to do with offense. My criteria is...
1) plays against other teams top players effectively in a shut down type role
2) plays 25min a game
For me,
Bogosian, Ristolainen & Zadorov can all fit those standards, and I believe McCabe will eventually be able to as well.
Obv they all still have some developing to do though.

And if what 89 says is true (got no reason to doubt him), Murray likes Zadorov & he isn't going anywhere

Oilers winning was obv awesome.
With Yakupov scoring now, their 2nd line & PP has been very productive. They'll continue to get some points & a win or 2 if a goalie can manage to only let in 3 or less goals...

Smith is playing so well in Arizona, that if he can keep it up they'll be getting some points and a win or two as well...

I'm gonna say they get a minimum of 4 more points each, which means we'd have to get 9 more points this year just to tie them.
I think that puts us in pretty good shape.

The russian team that drafted Zadorov wouldnt release him to go back juniors. It was either here or Russia for him.

People don't realize how close the Sabres are to having this thing locked up. I think there is zero chance they get a point tonight playing at Boston on the back end of back-to-back games. Friday's game is huge. If they could somehow lose in regulation to the Devils, Saturday's game is another one they have virtually zero chance of even getting a point in Nashville.

Before their game on Monday, the Oilers will have played both Columbus and Philly at home, while Arizona has Colorado, Pittsburgh without Malkin and Hornqvist, and Vancouver at home. If both teams can just get 2 points out of those games Buffalo is down 7 points with 10 games to play.

Makes sense, he's pretty talented & has held his own for the most part this year.
As long as he straightens out his act, he'll be part of our top4 for quite a while
