Edmonton is going to win a few games the next couple weeks. They play 5 of their next 6 against non-playoff teams.
- Pierceme69

Hope they play all non playoff teams the rest of the season by your prediction.

@NHLAccess: Winnipeg Jets report Tyler Myers will not return to game, I wonder how serious it is.

He lost a step after his quad injury though. Timing wise, we got rid of him at a good time. Prior to that though he was a solid 2nd line guy on a good team. Probably never should have really been the 1st line center though.

He was also good defensively and good on the PK.

- HonkFortheGoose

This is accurate. Not sure how good he was defensively though. Not brutal but he wasn't gonna win the Selke.

I know. I just always remember him as being the last guy to the bench on a line change.

Yeah . everyone picks players apart. But all that really matters is scoring goals to win games.

I don't believe it is and i don't think he's wrong. Hockey's generally regarded as one of the more expensive sports to put your kids through. A lot of college and chl hopefuls these days are coming from private schools, boarding schools or an institution specifically dedicated to the sport.

Nope. Although it might be a tad too general. I'm talking travel hockey at the AAA Level back in the late 80s/early 90s I used to read the hockey digest, the penthouse forum sized mag, and they would always have these ads for select tournaments that would play in Alaska or San diego or whatever, and the entry fees were ridiculous and they would have ads for hockey schools with former pros that would be $$$$$.

Like, I went to doug crossman's hockey school, probably cost $300 a week back in 88 or whatever.... Affordable for a middle class kid. Same camp in America would probably be a grand and have elite players, rather than the local mike weber guy.

And I wasn't putting America down... When you guys do something, you go all in and do it right... Whether it is bass fishing or mountain biking or putting jr in travel hockey, it seems that you spend the money to get the best... In Canada, you have to be relatively well off to even think of doing that. Stuff costs a lot up here.

Like Goose said. He was a fantastic 2 no line Center. On a good team.

I've said something along these lines on here various times over the past several months, and someone (a few) always goes off on me about it.

Hockey in America is a Middle-Class (Rich Kid's) sport and if anyone thinks otherwise, they are fooling themselves.

Everything you say is spot on. Especially that last part

And what's worse, if you somehow manage to afford the equipment, all the other players and coaches know you're poor and will bench your ass the second you show-up their darling player because they're too busy sucking on the kid's parents' a$$hole, or slash the ever living hell out of you and get away with it because let's be honest, the refs are just as biased, especially in High School, College and organized tournaments.

I/we grew up where there's actual free ice in the winter. But for probably 90% of the country, you need to pay to get on ice in the first place. Sports in general, as with many things, goes to the best prepared. Those with more money get to prepare better. I love the old school stories about guys who played for peanuts and had to work jobs in the summer, but those days are long gone.
