Now, I have no idea what it's like in Canada, but having grown up around kids that played all sorts of sports, there were a lot of hockey players that had the "immature spoiled rich kid" aura around them. There's no doubt in my mind that it carries up through the ranks, and takes a while to outgrow.

Hockey's a rich mans sport in America. When we played american teams in tournaments, all the us moms had fur coats and the dads all looked sharp in their suits. And I would imagine that the golden boy l hero attitude would come from this. Look at Phil keasel and his sister.

FIFY.

So how does Mr. Murray feel about you publishing a (presumably) private conversation you had with him? He must have given you clearance right? Otherwise why would you risk retelling in detail his opinions to a rumor blog when you have such a coveted 'in' with an NHL GM? What's the benefit to you?

Stick around for more news.

I forgot to add a picture I took of Pegula when I talked to him...

We have a lot of American prospects because they started looking at them and Euro prospects more the past 2 drafts because you have more time with them. I remember reading it somewhere that they hate the restrictions that are put on them with the guys in the CHL. If they're in the NCAA or in Europe, they have more time to sign them after the draft and can have a bit more of a hand in how they develop.

While I get the line of thinking, the danger of that is passing on better prospects simply because you don't like the way the rules work. It sounds even a little egotistical. The really successful ones are those that make it work, no matter what the rules that are in place.

I see the Oilers aren't even going to pretend like they have a chance tonight.

Just saw Pitt's second goal. Woeful D,plus meatball rebound served up by Chef Scrivens.

We are overloaded with prospects and because of roster limits, he feels having more college prospects buys him time. That's the way I heard it from him.

They had four great chances and Alex Zhitniked the net.

The American/Canadian thing is so dumb and irrelevant.

Pominville grew up in Canada and is "American"
Myers grew up in Texas and is "Canadian"

There is no difference

Boy, did that guy have a tough time hitting the net. He was a danger to his own teammates. Funniest sign at a hockey game I ever saw on tv must've been, "Hasek, you Smehlik like Zhitnik".

Has their goalie jumped out of the way of a shot yet? Apparently, thats the new standard of the tank.

Which is exactly true. Every time someone mentions Fashing playing on the sabres next year, i think he'll make the team four years from now if he does at all.

He doesn't need to when the puck goes right through him. 4-0 now. Sad state of affairs when Richard Bachman coming in is something to look forward to.

Did Scrivens do the conga line and fist bump all the guys on the bench?

We have a chit load of prospects that are even 5 years away. Even if players come in sooner. they are still a few years being on an NHL team before they are worth noting. THere are a few real gems out there. but you don't really see it till 22-23yrs of age.

Kesler, Pavelski, Parise, Callahan, are all complete players that play harder than most Canadians... I don't believe a word that guy says. No way you come on here after a conversation with a GM and tell everyone about it.

And yup the Oilers are doing what they do best. TANKING
