You should be worried.

Relying on a 36 year old arm that is going to cost a ton to get should worry you.

He's not in his prime anymore.

In his lone game in Buffalo while it was a win wasn't the greatest played by him and that was the Super Bowl year.

- dadeadhead

If the Bills had a QB that averaged 300 yards and 2 more TD's than INT's per game last year they would have won the division...

Not to mention they don't have to rely on a 36 year old arm. They have a top 5 D and one of if not the best RB in football. The window to win with this team is 2-3 years max. You give up picks to get him and groom a QB drafted in the later rounds to take over.

Not true.

If we were talking about a signing by Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Ottawa, or Philly then it would be a different story.

His record from 32-present is 3-7

His record from 26-31 was 11-9

That is a decline as he's aged.

Looking at a TEAMS record over his stats is a great way of looking at it

If they can draft a good QB they have a 4-5 year window where he will be on a rookie deal.

Gilmore/Watkins/Dareus/Bradham/Aaron Williams/Glenn/Woods is a good young nucleus.

We just need to draft well to eventually replace Mario, Kyle W, Eric Wood etc

Easier said than done replacing 2 Pro Bowl defensive linemen and still drafting a QB something this franchise hasn't done in oh 25 years.

So because the team lost its all his fault...got it.

If that's the case how come Montana doesn't have 12 rings?

Aside from them none of those teams mentioned are close to being cup competitive (boston cap strapped so i'll leave them out)

The contract itself isn't exactly team friendly but with Isles being where they are this is one they had to make. After Ehrhoff and Boyle skipped out on signing keeping Boychuk gives them some stability.

Obviously they're banking on him continuing this kind of production for the immediate future which is risky but they're at the point where term is not a priority as long as it pays off short term. That and their aren't a whole lot of players available out there they could replace him with that would make them better right now.

Right, you don't need pro bowlers everywhere though

Get serviceable replacements. The eventual upgrade at QB will even it out.

He is 36 years old and will cost the organizations future to get.

If you're good with that all the power to you.

Unless they upgrade the o line in a big way you're still looking at an 8-8 or 9-7 football team with him at the helm. Typical Bills offseason champs, chumps by mid November.

I'm no bills fan, so i can look at this with unbiased eyes. The bills have never been considered offseason champs, and I don't see them finishing only .500 if they acquire drew brees. They finished 9-7 with Orton as their QB for god sake.

Brees isn't one to tuck and run. Most rushing yards in a season is 130, 13 yrs ago.

It's more about their fans beating their chests that this is the year during the offseason only to watch them wallow in self pity come November. It's quite comical really.

I honestly don't care about the Bills or the NFL.

I am done beating the dead horse after this:

Last 15 outdoor games every game from 2009 on

He averages out to a 66% completion percentage 312 yards 2.33 TD's per game and .73 INT's per game. In fact his last 3 years outdoors have been better so the decline is only in the wins loss column and the Saints themselves as a whole team is mediocre at best.

If you go into any room that knows football and ask them if they want a QB that throws for over 300 yards per game more than 2 TD's per game and less than 1 INT per game they would want them as their starting QB.

If you could get him moving the 2nd this year and first next year you do it. Is that enough? I don't know the answer to that

No not by a long shot IMO.

If the rumor of TB and the 1st pick is true.

I wouldn't be shocked if a 2nd, a 1st and Manuel is enough for him.

Did some backreading.

In 12 games, on this team, Bogosian has 4 points.

How is that offensively inept?

He's also a plus 3...and playing over 26 minutes a game...jeeze Nolan is gonna kill him

I don't see him as of any real value.

He was a project when drafted and is still a project.

He's been a nice addition.

Brings some offense with some real backbone in his own end.

He'll make some dumb aggressive penalties from time to time though.

I figured it would be part of the trade, since they'd have to get rid of a QB, and I doubt it'd be cassel

His most recent point was a secondary assist from a shot that went wide. Offensively inept may be harsh but i wouldn't call it his strong suit.

He's been in a shutdown role.

I don't know, I like him. He's not Marc-Andre Bergeron with the points, and he's made a few mistakes, but he seems like a good top-4 guy going forward.
