I hate to see the loser point we got last night but, we shouldn't have a problem tanking on with the teams we have coming up.

Last nights game was one of the sorriest things ever in NHL history. It was an almost completely uncontested game. The Leafs forecheck was almost no existent. They literally weren't trying. I could have transitioned the puck out of the zone in that game. I've NEVER seen a Leafs home game with so few people and I never thought a would hear a crowd at the ACC so absent. Really glad we ultimately lost though.

Yet somehow we're the ones intentionally tanking. But ARZ, EDM and TOR aren't.

Pretty much the only reason i watch the games now is to see some glimmer of hope for next year. Last night that glimmer was Larsson. Glad to see he can walk the talk. Not the most challenging opponent in the world, but i could understand his style a little better than when he's on the 4th line. Several give and go's yesterday, kept his feet moving, played smart, hit.
Gives me a little more confidence in him and others when they're playing with linemates that are better than traffic cones and bags of potatoes.
Bonus for not actually getting two points.

It's been said that Larsson needs to get a decent amount of time to adjust to where he's playing. Finally getting a good string of games here seems to have allowed him to acclimate. It's what I was hoping we'd see from him. I wasn't impressed at his stints earlier in the year so I'm glad to see he's turning the corner.

I think this is the subtlest way I have ever heard an announcer call the players a bunch of hacks. And coming from Ray, that's an OUCH.

Its been such an interesting year. They've had more than one series of comments like that the last few weeks. In a few years when the team is good, the kids that were too young to remember this will have no idea.

Yeah. I always question the wisdom of bringing up a player, putting them on the 4th line and then sending them back down for not "showing the coaches anything."
Not that everyone instantly deserve 20+ minutes on the 3rd line. It just seems like a lot of rhetoric for "i don tlike that guy."

Well, there's 2 sides to that. If you have a guy on the 4th line go down with injury, are you going to call up one of the 4th liners from Rochester? I think if I were Larsson, that would make me even more upset to be honest.

It's kind of a catch 22. In general though. Larsson is never going to be a full time top 6 player here. He'll be a 3rd liner if he's lucky, but probably a 4th liner that can jump up a line when necessary.

A case like grigorenko. Who is just as much a checker as a AHL 4th liner is an NHLer.
I think larssons previous call ups were low in the lineup.
