Guys, Grigerenko came from a poor family(didn't even have running water), he was saying how he wanted to earn money for them playing in NHL etc...so why not work hard for them? I am an Amerks season ticket holder and have seen all the prospects for the last 25 years, Grigerenko is a bust, the guy acts like he deserves to be playing top line minutes and the first year he was here the team hated his guts, they couldn't stand him. His skating is very poor, when he plays he never goes near the net or works hard to get the puck in the offensive zone, he thinks it's like Junior hockey where everything moves slow and comes to him.

If you came from a super poor family and you wanted to earn money for them why not work hard? He's not going to earn much money in the ECHL. The excuse of how Darcy had him play too early is nonsense, the guy just doesn't have it!Brad May said it best when he stated that Grigs had NO zip to his game...My nickname for him is NoZip.

1. terrible skating and quickness
2. lazy lack of effort
3. poor attitude
4. not a high end talent

It's very funny most fans can't see that he is not a NHL level talent. First time I ever watched him in camp I knew he was a bust.

I believe in the Sabre suckiness, as presently constituted. Although, losing Mez is a tough one. Lindback and the Mak-daddy ought to take care of business between the pipes.

I can't stand that phrase. You know what teams are "hard to play against"? The good ones.
- buffalofan19

Mario Lemieux was a bastard to play against...did everything he could to get an edge on you...bobby orr fought when he had to and was constantly skating with a bullseye on his sweater...

I think "hard to play against" is more of an attitude

As Randy Quaid might say in Christmas Vacation, "Bingo!"

Tim Connolly was the master of getting by with uber-talent and not much in the ticker department.

has anyone on the sabres roster within the last two decades had so much talent but so little desire?

I thought he was called up after Ocho-stinko was injured during warmups. Or was it Hackett? Hmm. Maybe it was Buddy Hackett now that I think of it...Its all been such a blur.

He came up first and then they sent him back down and called up Tankett.

I'm glad to have a slight lead on them. Were gonna need all of it. Somehow, the spark of adding Derek Roy did not last the rest of the season...

This tough stretch of their schedule ends soon. After they play the Pens they get 6 of their next 7 against non-playoff teams.

The Leafs game makes me nervous after that, Rangers, Caps, Bruins, Devils and Preds. I want to lose all of those games.

grabbed this from the buffalo news comment section:

"I've said this before......the Sabres are on pace for about the same number of points they had last year. The Oilers are on pace for about 10 less and the Coyotes are on pace for about 25 less. Who's "tanking" here?"

With the goaltending we currently have, that shouldn't be a problem

A buddy of mine is friends with Jon Christiano, director of pro scouting for the Sabres, and he said once, "what you see Connolly do in the games isn't even the half of it."

Yeah, Leafs really pooped their hockey pants tonight, and you could just feel it coming. Lotta quit in them.

First thing I thought of when reading his post.

Nobody got over on Orr. Sure he was protected but he was tough. He could fight.

all could score and did so...marcel Dionne wasn't hard to play against either...he scored...and he played on some pretty bad kings teams...

imo, they all showed one thing we haven't seen from Grigorenko yet--desire

- Michael Pachla

YOu might have a point. He showed some this summer, but it seemed to get damped down pretty quick.

You win, also next injury grigo will be right up here playing.

Nolan should have a statue outside of FNC of his head sticking outside of a tank. I;m just wondering when/if he's going to snap and chirp murray about the tank. It's gotta take a toll on you losing every game. Should be interesting to see what hes got.

not sure what's up with him, schultzie...I will say darcy was notorious for favoring players like Grigorenko--soft, but skilled

I feel for the guy, he'd probably be a legit contender for #1 pick in almost any other draft. Worst of all, any team that lands him will probably be disappointed because of what they potentially missed out on. I hope it doesn't turn him into cam barker 2.0
