How is explaining EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED "sugar coating".....im sorry, am i missing something?

Hey, lets try this one more time....and see if it computes....

The Rags dominated the 1st. The Hawks dominated the 2nd. The 3rd was split(Hawks played better towards the 1st half of the 3rd, Rangers better as the 3rd went on). Both teams had 1 shot in OT, and the Rangers went in. Rangers had more SOG overall. Hawks had more total shot attempts and possession. If the Rangers played better at all, it was by the SLIGHTEST of margins(as shown by the final score and back and forth matter of the gameplay). It was tight checking, neutral zone clogging by both teams. Good saves by both goalies. What in the flying (frank) am i "sugar coating" by explaining this time, and time, and TIME again?

?

Sorry to be a Richard, and its nothing personal.....but....

"classic denial" lol....im simply explaining exactly how the game played out. IDK how anyone could reasonably think that either team was that much better/faster than the other to the extent you're making it sound("Rangers were more this, more that, more etc..."). And if the Rags were cycling, playing fast, looking like the better team(at times they certainly were, especially in the 1st), its only because the margin between us(especially considering minus Kane, Oduya, etc..) in the speed department is very slim....2 of the fastest teams in the league....and the Hawks had their moments in the game as well, quite even. Not gonna rehash it any further. Im DEFINITELY not sugar coating anything ill tell u that much....

TVR played what 20 games in NHL in light minutes, and now he is our guy? The saviour?

And Oduya regaining form of a few years ago? NO chance. Oduya is a bottom pair d man at this point of his career. Hawk fans living life looking back, against the sage advice of Boston, just will never understand aging.

Hawks love to raid the museum to pick up players and likely will net nothing.

It's perceptive and shrewd to concoct a narrative that not one poster has put forward.. that somehow TVR is going to be this teams savior?

I think most every single poster on this board looks at TVR as a replacement to Rundblad or Roszival's potential playoff minutes. Who ever mentioned him as a savior?

BTW: I understand "aging". I just think it's hilarious that some are postulating that Oduya has magically lost in the span of one calendar year the ability to be a solid 5/6 defenseman at the incredibly old age of 33. He's been not very good for large stretches this season, no doubt. Let's see what happens when he comes back.

The Hawks haven't "raided" anything. In fact, they've consistently had one of the top 3 most talented rosters in hockey, building around core players.

Stellar analysis I tell you!

just encouraging another poster to post more often. Slow down there sport. Sorry if I just don't jump right on board with the optimists here. Plenty to be concerned about with this team.

And as far as stellar analysis is concerned, we're off on,out attack mode again? I didn't realize I had to clear any thoughts with you, the Kremlin, Politburo or Pravda.

If you want to discuss hockey, fine. But you, the vitriol flows if you disagree with anyone. I suggest try not labeling and inferring the dissent as mindless vacuous buffoons.

Decorum, decency, and being a gentleman. I suggest it for all.

That's fine if you choose to disagree with other posters - that's the great nature of a message board. My point is quite simple, actually. It's not stellar analysis to claim that others believe TVR is a "savior" when a single poster hasn't qualified him as such. That's attacking you?

I am not sure I would agree with your hilarious statement that somebody cannot loose in a span of one year loose the ability to be a solid player at age 33. Come on , it happens to the best of players. Look at Richards..he got very little left in the Tank. A high % of hockey players after 32 or so loose a step, the quick release of a shot slows down, ...it's normal . I agree , I hope Oduya comes back and plays like last year.. But Father Time will decide. Go Hawks
Stellar analysis I tell you!

Can anybody tell me if Mike Poltta, senior from Vermont is able to play at Rockford after next week because Vermont's season will be over? He is 6'4" 205 lb defensman. Had a ton of assists this year, however, is he good enough to make the Hawks squad sometime during next years season?

The other player that seems to make the Hawk player of the week in the system on a regular basis is Vince Hinostoza of Notre Dame. He is a sophomore but only 5'8" tall. He is n the top ten in scoring in the NCAA. Can anybody give me the scoop on him? Can he realistically be quick enough to overcome his height deficiency?

Thanks I will be a broken record as JJ has posited, I believe we just are rearranging deck chairs at this point. Every other team gets younger and faster, and we are just average now with team speed, and our defense is far more suspect than most realize.

Really....of all things, speed concerns you? With the Blackhawks?

I agree there are plenty of negatives to see since the 1st....mainly injuries and sloppy defensive play, shaky PP, maybe a few other things.....but speed certainly isn't one of them, not gonna worry bout the Hawks team speed just because they skated toe to toe with another incredibly fast team and didnt clearly establish themselves as the faster team....

- SimpleJack

Did I say it was a priority? Yes, it does concern me. Rosi, Timmo, this year's version of Oduya, Rundblad, BICKELL (not just speed with him - conditioning, positioning, utter confusion and no excuse for any of it). They improved it somewhat with Zus gone but lost a load of it on the back end with Leddy. It isn't a top concern. Rangers can fly and they didn't look seriously out matched like they have at times against the Wings and Nashville this year). All depends on who Q dresses. 13 had ideal speed - even with Stalberg sitting in the playoffs they could overwhelm people.

Injuries happen. The problems here since late December are more than that. That sloppy defense has something to do with effort. TOI for key players. Line and pairing balance. Coaching. Maybe they can flip a switch? We will see.

Blues never seem to get Hutchinsen when he is "on". Instead, you get the flake version of Pavelec.

When is Michalek supposed to be back? Good move for JA but he has really stripped the cupboard bare now... When Elliott or Allen blow it this year I wonder if it will be just Hitch gone or Armstrong with him.... He is making trades like he got an ultimatum from management.

This could be the Blues year to get out of the 1st round. Small chance the current version of the Hawks - playing the way they currently are - takes out the Blues without Kane.

Hutch was chased out of the game after giving up 4 goals on like 7 shots.

Them Pavelec came in and played well......... until that happened.

Michalek is skating and was supposedly cleared today. Maybe this week.

A few posters new of him (Paliotta) and seemed confident he signs when his season is done. Hope they are right. No more Hayes walk aways please (another nice night for him BTW). Hinostroza is another little offensive player in system full of little offensive players. I'd rather see a kid like Hayden play well enough to stay next year.

We have not seen that version of Hutchinsen at all this year.

Michalek and Shattenkirk healthy will make your D look scary good.

Without Kane, we said in order to be effective we got to make sure we check first," Quenneville said. "That's how you win in this league anyway. I still think there's opportunities there [to score]. Sometimes we look for better plays. But sometimes the play at the net, we don't shoot it because there's nobody at the net. I think that's where it's going to be more predictable, where somebody's there and it's going there." .....

Agree to disagree?
The rangers were the better team/The more engaged team.
Shots- Rags- 36 Hawks 29
Giveaways- Rags- 1 Hawks-8
Blocked shots- Rags 18 Hawks- 8
Remember when stats like these were always in the Hawks favor? Remember when the Hawks were willing to sacrifice themselves to make plays, score goals, and block shots.
And the Hawks shots(for the most part) were perimeter "oh crap, lets at least get a shot on net" with no one even near the net type shots, As they have been for awhile. And "again" Crawford was the biggest reason we made it to OT. Otherwise it ends in regulation. As the Rangers were the much better team.

The only places I remember were a great BBQ place (I know there's probably 100 of them), and a breakfast place where Bear Bryant (wayside or something like that) used to eat all the time. Both places were in town. Got to play the Golf trail also, and tour the Mercedes plant.

I did some work with the Tuscaloosa News, and they took me to these places figured they knew the best ones.

Can someone please explain to me what the hell is going on with Patrick Sharp, and why I'm considering dropping him as a free agent for Mika Zibanejad!?
