Yeah but no goals yet? C'mon....thats not that impressive.... - SimpleJack
Quite right. BUT, those Rangers sure are the "real deal". My early favorite to get out of the East and be in the Cup finals!!!
(Still unsure in the West, every team has some "warts". Liking my Hawks, Preds (even though in funk right now), Kings (if they get in), and Ducks (but...goaltending???). I dunno. West has strong teams, but every one has some flaws....hard to predict! |

And on a different note...with Oduya coming back soon....would you rather see kimmo paired with Rosy on the 3rd line or with Hammer on the 2nd pair or is is kimmo and rundblad on the 3rd pair with kimmo - southernhawk
2-7 4-27 32-44 and Runblad nowhere near the ice. And I think we're all hoping we get TVR Back to spell either one of Rosy Kimmo. The problem with this team has been the defense which has been really out of sync most of the season.
As savvy alluded to earlier the time to move Sharp was last summer despite his whinny agent and use that money for defense. Strahlman would have looked real good here.
Also move Bickell and sign Kevin Hayes. But all Stan did was dump Leddy for Richards. Is Bickell actually going to start playing now that he's been benched again? Stay tuned. |

That's funny...I thought being critical and cynical was fighting a losing battle on this site.

That is only the case when talking about specific people/players, i.e. being critical of anything Q does. |

Sure hope you're right DK that Rundblad doesn't see the ice with Oduya back. They have to reunite him with Hjalmarsson but am thinking that Q will not put 2 old glue horses together, you will probably see the 2/32 and 7/44 pairings if I'm guessing correctly.
Bickell has to be a goner this off-season, cannot have a guy eating up $4M of cap space with his regular anemic performances. My guess is maybe THAT will wake up the sleeping bear IF Bickell realizes he screwed himself and gets dumped.
Even worse is Sharp's performance -- $5.9M for THAT???? So here we go: how about this team take a vote and put that "A" on a player that really is deserving? Seabrook. Hossa. Kane. Any of those 3. Yes, I know they are already leaders. But guys wearing the "A" don't have their agents going public putting the team and GM in a corner crying and whining about being traded.
POS was so hell-bent on making the Canadian Olympic team that he used up whatever mojo he had in the tank. It's gone and so should he be -- we'll be lucky to get a low draft pick this offseason.

What pisses me off is even with all his warts the first three seasons - the Hawks management stood by him. The little bumhole showed absolutely no loyalty back. And it had nothing to do with his brother being traded - if anything - the Hawks did Jimmy a favor by trading him to a team that had playing time available - and it wasn't Buffalo or Edmonton. - dahawks8819
The trade itself did Jimmy Hayes a favor, that's true. However, it's everything leading up to the trade that influenced Kevin Hayes. Hayes, Pirri, and a few others in Rockford at the time were rumored to have a sense of entitlement - in the idea that they should have had roster spots handed to them in Chicago for the '13-'14 season.
In all, the Hayes and Olsen for Versteeg trade wasn't about doing Jimmy a favor. Rather, it was about acquiring Versteeg. The bonus for Bowman was trading away two players who were on the periphery of making the team the season after who would have been wavier-eligible in that next season. Rather than risk losing those two for nothing on waivers, Bowman got something for them. |

Better yet, let Hossa and Seabrook share that "A." One gets it for home games, the other for away games. |

Put 4/27 together for now and leave 44 on the 3rd pairing until he gets his game legs and cardio back in shape. 'Hawks have 16 games left and 57 coming back in a couple weeks. There's time to get the top two pairings back together. They can always split 4/27 and mix in 57 a couple different ways when he gets back. |

Bowman continues to baffle me...I love the move for Vermette. Easily one of his best moves. But Stan isn't very often proactive which leads me back to last offseason. The time to repair and change was last spring...instead of bringing the band back.
Runblad without question is one of Stan's worst - a 2nd rounder for a guy who gets lost in his own end.
Sharpie...no question he blew his wad trying to make the Olympic team last season. He didn't have much at all left for the playoffs. All the same at this point they should do whatever they can to get him going. You're going to need him to score to get through the first two rounds here. I'd put him up with Toews and Hossa.

Look at these second round picks in 2014 www.mynhldraft.com/2014-NHL-draft-results/round-2 and let me know which one you wanted. Not saying Runblad is any good but acting like Stan gave away the keys to the bank is a little overboard! |

Last year everyone was saying that they would be happy with the trade if Rundblad was the team's seventh defensemen this year. Lo and behold he is the seventh defensemen This year and people still find a way to female dog and moan and complain. |
