PPs in the playoffs were as close to reg season as they would get.

Then no one showed up to the parade in NC because... NASCAR? So the league decided there would be no more PPs in the playoffs.

Again...Roy certainly helped. But if you recall...Montreal was having a fantastic season until a late season cold streak. Damphoussee had a fantastic year and playoffs. As did Bellows. LeClair was a beast in the playoffs. As was Desjardins. Muller was Muller. Etc etc. That team had 100X more talent and skill then this current Hab roster. It's laughable to even compare them.

They almost got swept by the Nordiques. If Roy hadn't had one of his tantrum in the locker room and turned things around, it would of been a lot different.

The stars were aligned for Montreal that year. Lemieux and the penguins (who were favorites) being eliminated, and also having Turgeon who was one of the best player in the NHL that year getting injured by hunter, also helped the habs. And then the whole Mcsorley stick penalty that change the Stanley cup playoffs for the habs.

Completely off topic, but i (frank)ing hated Pierre Turgeon. Biggest wussy/wimp/fairy on the ice. When Montreal named him captain I was so pissed off.

Again Roy was great.....but do you remember how atrociously he played the first two games of that series? That cup was NOT all Roy. That's bullpoop media crap to try and devalue a very very good Habs team that put it together. Again, they held down first through a significant portion of the season before a late season cold streak had everyone looking past them as an after thought. That team was extremely talented.

Everything is possible. It's sports. If we knew before the year started who would win it would be freaking boring. Just like it's possible for me to get laid with Jessica Alba. The chances are freaking slim, but possible.

I wouldn't bet my house on them that's for sure.

I was there, I had tickets for the playoffs. Montreal was the underdog against the Nordiques. And the Penguins were the clear favorite, which we never got to play.

At least we had Turgeon, Damphousse and Koivu at one point. It's been a while since we've had a #1 center.

I was at numerous games in the playoff run, that doesn't make you more correct then me & vice versa. Again, that team was having a hell of a season until a cold streak at the end almost derailed their season. Everyone knows the Penguins team was a clear favourite that year, but that doesn't diminish the season Montreal had or the roster it had. That was a hell of a hockey team.

Damphousse was a fantastic player, a bit of a pain in the ass because of his conditioning and being an average skater. But man he was smart, an unreal passer and and underrated scorer. I remember his spinorama goal on Hextall in 93 where Hextall lost his mind. And that beauty of Richter in 96 with that ass clown behind the bench....Mario Tremblay...

Those two destroyed the team (Houle and Tremblay), and it's been 2 decades now and we are still looking for a #1 center And we are still rebuilding.

Ugh....tell me about it.
I remember when Damphousse had that 4 goal allstar game in 91 as a leaf and thinking, 'man he'd look great in a Habs jersey...'

Hopefully Bergevin will pull a rabbit out of his hat this summer and bring in a #1 center. Probably will not be an established player, but a rookie or a lucky draft choice ( like Detroit).

You never know, there was a lot of talk about Montreal trying to get Eberle before trade deadline. They may kick the tyres on that in the off season again. Not a C though.

So if I understand correctly, the 2014-2015 Canadiens are a team that relies solely on Carey Price for success and the reason for this is that they constantly make the opposition goaltender look good? Kind of contradictory, no?

Also, we should try to build a team that has as much skill as the 93 team but they were mostly pussies except Damphousse?

Where is all the Leaf fans now? I believe it could have been as early as this year that they joked about the habs' 2-3 "1st rounders" from 2013 draft.

Guess De La Rose has shut them up.
