Meh, if I'm Dion I stand up and laugh it off and say it's ridiculous, it would end there....

Much bigger issue than Dion is my point. They are and should be using this as a platform for cyber bullying discussion

Totally disagree, all kids do bad things and have to be corrected... Parents do their part part to influence one way or the other....
- aminnes

I suppose if you mean they piss on the toilet seat then sure. But if you're saying that all kids are inclined to break our civil standards/laws then I disagree. I'm not sure if you're a parent but it certainly influences my perspective.

Oh my, this is the same thing going on everywhere, instead of defusing we all love to make a mountain out of it... Just like the NHL, every little hit has to be over analyzed and the "bigger issue" brought forward... If you as an individual want to grandstand thats your right, but if I'm Dion, I defuse, there are enough people with too much time on their hands blabbering on about every little thing as it is....

It's 2 trains of thought, you think people are products totally of their environments, I would say this is only partly true, but that we are inherently selfish from birth, so even under the nicest circumstances we have potential to be bad people regardless....

Selfish I'll give you - undeniable. But we're also empathetic, loving and caring.

And you have kids?

And again, i accept that this specific incident isn't that huge of a deal, but it's at the heart of a very big problem. And due to the profile can be used to bring attention to that problem.

Edit: kids reference is I am surprised that's your attitude on this. maybe they are older, or still too young that you haven't had to worry about this yet.

Kids are inclined to be selfish, this manifests in different ways to different kids, and on into adulthood, we are never going to legislate selfishness or hate or whatever out of people, but obviously we strive to raise our kids to be the best they can, but guess what, they will (frank) up sometimes, it's the way it is, but our kids now are being taught to go run to the authorities whoever something bothers them and make a big deal about it...

Unfortunately a lot of them don't, they kill themselves instead, and nobody knows why until they check their social media feeds...

The root of the problem is spoiled kids being allowed to sit in front of as screen and get poop pumped into their brains all day, and now even in school on their phones. You want to fix the problem, stop spoiling kids and buying into every ad campaign saying how great the new tech is... Send you kids outside to play. Again, I see this as in individual families thing, not another reason for the government to add another bureaucracy....

Just curious, has anyone seen or heard Lupul go on record to outright deny the "allegations?"

Oh agreed.

But only way some parents are going to care is if there might be some legal consequence.

And again, often it is what most people would consider to be good kids for the most part who just have no sense of the consequences of their actions.

Ha, case to my point i just posted... 4 girls at the comp high school here committed suiciude together as part of the Facebook group 16 forever... Stop giving your kids all this tech to (frank) with, if not for facebook they would not have had the platform to find others wanted to kill themselves.... I hear you, but again, I don't see a scenario other than the individuals themselves that fixes anything...

The fact they are suing is a pretty good indication it's not true. They don't have a leg to St and on if it's true.

I don't think it'y my job to force anyone to do anything using government force... Most parents we hang out with are spoiling their kids rotten and have no idea and won't acknowledge it...

Yup. Motivating the individuals is a major difficulty though. Most parents have no idea their kids are monsters online. Most don't even know this is an issue.

One of the ask.fm suicides... 2 girls were actually charged. In order to do that police had to have a Ton of evidence from their postings. One girls dad says " this is absolutley untrue, my daughter is a good girl she would never do this"

She admitted it right away.

Ahhhhhhh... BINGO!!!

... But if a statement is true, then isn't it allowed to be said/expressed? Can ANYONE prove that Lupul and Elisha "did..." OR "did not...?" No. If the Twitter statement is true, in light of the potential lawsuit, would either Lupul and/or Cuthbert admit it to anything at this point? No, but their little lawsuit would be thrown out faster than a Leafs jersey onto the ice this season.

Yes they have, they sued th ones who said it for defamation and slander. That's saying it isn't true. Lawyers told them to not comment on it otherwise.

I have relatives who's parents allowed them from the time they were 12 to have their own computer and serf... You can guess what their lives are like now.. But people we know now allow it at 8-10. People are allowing the system and the net to raise their kids, and the results are the results...[/img]
