Sometimes you have to drop the mittens and stand up for yourself. That is what needs to be taught to the kids.

You're missing the point Dozzer. It's not a question of protecting feelings. If only feelings are hurt, you don't have a case. You need to show some real damage. But, there can be a fairly wide definition of damage.

That's exactly it. Nobody would see that tweet outside that persons followers. TSN broadcasted it to a national audience and caused "damage" to Lupul, Phaneuf and his wife. At this point all fingers towards blame should be on TSN and not those 3

Well, turns out he got a bigger one than he hoped for, but he still defended his decision as "who cares what I say, I'm no one" (essentially). If you're not prepared to deal with what comes from the things that you publicly state, then don't tweet poop like that in the first place.

My guess is that this ends in a flurry of apologies, and hopefully some lessons learned.

Unlike some on here, I commend the three of them for what they are doing. They are taking a stand against cowards posting knowingly-false crap, thinking there are no consequences.

I'd rather teach my kids about standing up for what you think is right, rather than telling them to just accept what cowards are saying about them as part of life.
