I look at Marion Gaborik as a comparable. He had to go to the winning tradition in LA to become clutch. If Kessel was plying beside Toews, Sid, Kopitar, Stamkos, or Tavares and tried to take a shift off (let alone 30games) he would be put in his place.

In Toronto if Phaneuf or Bozak tried to tell him what to do we all know how that would go.. and it ends at the bottom of a bucket of extra crispy.

The deal was actually Kaberle, 7th (Kadri) for Kessel, and 2009 Bostons 1st (guessing the pick that turned into Caron).
burke thought it was the Leafs following years 1st (2010).

And that was straight from the horse's mouth (burke).

That's always where the confusion is...Burke didn't think he was trading his top 10 pick, he thought it was next years.

I've met the man four times, and in those four times I've asked him just two leaf questions....the above was one of them. The other question had to do with the Sedins....and he never answered it.
