I have never once blamed the media for the Leafs poor performance over the years, in fact I always thought it was a cop out or just dumb... but I think the media has now sufficiently pissed the players off enough that they're going to actually start playing hard and we wave bye bye to that nice 4th overall pick.... Like a (frank)ing self fulfilling prophecy.

The problem is, even with said centre, he does not take hits to sustain pressure, so its' all off the rush, or on the PP... Good centres still need wingers who dig in the corners to get sustained pressure which leads to winning hockey games, it's why the leafs first line a re big fat minuses every year while other top lines are not...

Games played would be a factor, Crosby was out for a lot of that time. I'm just saying if you told people that Kessel was in the same ballpark as Giroux, OV and Malkin you'd be laughed at.

Last year right? and the first four games they were great, then he got suspended in the minnesota game, then he stunk for the next five. He's a more complete player now compared with then.
